From: Phil Deakins I don't see that. The non-accusational naming of avatars isn't against the rules as far as I know. E.g. "Joe Bloggs answered that in another thread. Do a search for Joe Bloggs." isn't against the rules, is it? If it is, it's a stupid rule.
And I honestly can't see anything wrong with telling people here that Joe Blogs had his account deleted. I don't know a rule against that either. Hey you can't name Joe Bloggs in this forum, someone lock this thread

From: Viktoria Dovgal That's the catch, normally you have to be premium to buy tier at all, and even if you can find a workaround to the premium requirement, LL will be expecting those tier payments to come in and can hold your alt hostage.
At least this past summer, I was able to let an alt (a basic) buy land for a group, but that was just on the L$ side of things. The US$ tier was already there from premiums. If the group rents the tier, then it isn't dependent on a Premium account. I used to rent from Elanthius to avoid big tier jumps when I was moving land about (so to speak). If I'd known about tier-renting day one. I'd have stayed on a 512 tier for my earliest years. Up to the 1/2 sim level, it is cheaper to rent tier than to pay tier to LL. That's because the barons pass on the discounts that they get for multiple sim tier. They also pay lowish rates to people with spare tier and rent that out as a markup. After the 1/2 sim level, it still makes sense to rent the tier over the 1/2 sim amount in order to avoid the jump to LL's full sim tier level. I'm not sure who is the tier rental business now. Elanthius doesn't rent tier *from* people any more - as I understand - but he may still be renting tier *to * groups.

Thanks, Viktoria & Sling. I've never rented tier and not quite sure how it works, but it does seem like a good way go acquire more prims on current land without the tier jump.
Something else I need to look into.
