Are Big Lips a bad thing????

I was one of the first avatars in SL to have BIG lips(if not the first)..nice BIG full Lips..Ive taken alot of hell over the years for it..and traversed SL never seeing anyone with BIG lips except me..then...slowly.. a girl here...girl there...advertisements started popping up with models who had big lips.

Ive had famous ppl in SL tell me i had fish lips and then laugh when i got my feelings hurt..asking if i was "one of those people who took my sl looks too seriously"

Ive had really mean people laugh me out of RP SIMs saying i looked like a plastic surgery nightmare gone bad. But..I never changed them.

My choices and views on beauty are Mine...as yours should be. Like me..if you stick with your choices..and follow your dreams of what beauty is..eventually people will follow YOU..not the other way around

Good question. Open forum might alter your slut rating, which you don't have because you haven't sent pics yet, but it would probably get me a few angry IM's from people who just don't get it.

Let's do it in private - PM here or IM in-world. Give me your best kiss. I will probably respond a little quicker here, since they haven't even built my computer yet, even though shipping deadline was yesterday. Sigh. Maybe extra credit for cheering me up and taking my mind off my computer dilema. It's going to have to be a hell of a kiss for that.

I think its very sad that people don't understand what makes SL so beautiful is the fact that each person is special..for whatever reason..and that shouldnt be made fun of.

You are right, Lana. I also think people shouldn't be 'chastised' for having fun on a thread about big lips. No one here was making any fun of Yummy's looks.

I don't like those big lips on light-skinned women, but that's my personal taste. I don't like a lot of other things, but many other people do. I would never go and tell someone they should change just because it might not be according to MY taste.
I've been told I'm too short, my butt is too big, my skin too pale, glasses are unsexy, and so on. But I don't change.

(Actually, I've been told all that in RL, too.... )

You got your reply out just fine, as did the multiple other people, including me who gave her serious answers.

Two things: 1) I said in my post that you got all snippy about that if it got continued in the forums, I would get replies from people who just don't get it. From her posts, I can surmise that the person behind the avatar has an equally beautiful personality. Honestly, until she tells me I've offended her by playing in her playground, I just don't care that you're all upset about alleged civil rights violations and discrimination against puffy lipped people. How serious do you expect people to be in a thread like this?

I wasn't trying to get my groove on, BTW. I have never used the rating gag as a tool for harassing women.

Well Isa..it's like this..If you ignore the problem you are part of it. If noone is ever told that their behavior isn't helpful then their behavior continues and they never know.

I was under the impression that highjacking threads for ones own personal benefits wasn't acceptable..just like making fun of someones Avatar choices.

Guess I was wrong =)

I have no problem with people having fun but never at a persons emotional expense..or a threads substance expense either.

I haven't deluded myself. I knew I was a moron from the start. Plus, I don't ALWAYS make a fool of myself. There have been at least three times this week where I sounded half intelligent and gave a pretty good answer. I even got QFT'ed once. I printed the post out and framed it.

Isa I have no problem..I was simply stating what my feelings were concerning people who judged others for personal avatar choices.

Going back and reading everyones post is exactly what I did and is exactly what led me to find that "slut ratings:" and "kissing tests" had absolutely nothing to do with Yummys questions about her avatar choices.

Since trying to get this thread back on track..I've been told to take a stick out of my ass..and the lemon out of my mouth by you and by Trout..and If i so chose..I would take that personally...but i do not.

The simple fact is.. noone should have to dredge thru "horseplaying" and "quippy" posts about slut ratings and emotes of two avatars smooching inorder to get to the meat of a threads subject.
Thats the cut and dry..the fact that I have to contend with personal insults because i pointed that out and asked "please" take it to PM...well it's just sad.

Full lips and a curvy figure always gets my full attention. I'm with Ricardo on this one; I don't get the gigantic boobs on a body that has a tiny waist and no butt...except that this body type has for a long time been the so-called standard of American beauty.

Thank goodness this is finally changing! Women with real curves are finally being appreciated and I for one welcome our new curvaceous amazon overlords.

The "perfect woman" to me? Think Zena Amazon Warrior with Angelina's lips. Or even better, Phyllis Hymans' lips. (I'm sure a few of you remember her).

As for Sir Trout's 'Slut' ratings.. a lot of the women on these forums have the 'ratings' in their signatures(even one man that I'm aware of). Read it to laugh at, complain about it whatever.. if you find it offensive, i'm sorry. I find them rather entertaining, keep up the good work Sir Trout!

ya know i "thought" that Yummy posting what she did would've put this issue to rest but NOOO you ppl "want" to fight and bicker..and STILL this post has turned into something else besides a discussion on avatar choices.
