If anyone wants to see how the poor folk live, I'd make my place available. It's a simple skybox that Arwen built from scratch with mostly freebie stuff, with TP pads that get you up to a pool with swimmable prim water with a nice view. The second floor of the skybox is a mini dungeon if anyone wants to play. I won't be there, though, but could leave a note on the door with instructions. My only question is how to handle the security...I have a psyke orb covering the property. Would everyone on the tour be a Cartel member? I guess I have to read up on the Orb and how to configure it. Any advice?

I got spit out of there one time - it can be fun to jump in, look around quick and get thrown out.

But can't you turn it off for a little while? Just put a hover text on your gold bullion that says, "DON'T TAKE THIS"

use two big triangles instead of the 5 prims, and eliminate z-flicker at the same time.

I posted in The Thread, and thought it might be well repeated here.
The sim where I live and my house is open at all times to any visitors for such visits. Being a night creature and on the NZ time zone it is unlikely I will be there myself unfortunately.

The sim is Watchman and my house is the gothic mansion with the graveyard.

My place is there too, on the beach next to Stonehenge, across from Seven's. I haven't furnished it much, but feel free to enjoy the ocean breeze. I can leave a kidnap chair out if you'd like.

My sims ( Differences and Differences II ) are open for tours and if anybody notices the cartel group is still closed for joining even though it's past the 10th lol :)

Forum Cartel Home Tours Sat June 27th!
06-19-2009 14:43

For those that didn't see the group notice for the cartel home tour, look out for this sign at the Forum Cartel Hangout. Click the sign to get more information and how you can sign up your house for the tour. You can get the same notecard from the group notice history or just IM me and I'll send one your way. We still need volunteers and everyone is welcome so don't be shy :) SLURL to the hangout: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Allana/162/35/37

Mmkay, I may regret this...Lol.

But in the true "dirty hippie" (my group tag there) spirit:

Am currently renting here:

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Sasha/192/222/29

Y'all are welcome to hang out on the porch, enjoy the live musics which will be going on tonight at 7 PM SL time, and generally enjoy the sim - there is biking, inner tubing, live music a few times a week as I said. Also a campground on the other part of the sim. Look for the free VW camper van in the bait shop.

Just PLEASE go by the sim rules - which are pretty common sense i.e. be nice to everyone and respectful =) And PLEASE, if this thread lives on and on, do not use the above SLurl past a couple weeks or so of this post's date.

Some other poor sod may be living there and not know why people are tping in to his porch :P

@melita: I'll send you a notecard with some info to fill out for the event and you can delete your slurl from this thread if you'd like.

and to the others that indicated an interest in showing their homes send you a notecard as well if you're still interested in participating :)

Can't get inworld, but I have a little time right now. Can anyone post the text of the tour notecard, so I can fill it out and cut/paste it when I'm inworld?

TIA!

I'll send you a copy inworld as well litta :) thanks for volunteering. No rush just send it back to me in the next few days.

Meet fellow members for tea & cookies in a casual tour around the grid in a day long open house of members' homes on Sat June 27th.. Whether you have a tiny skybox or a primtastic home, now is your chance to show off your decorating & building skills. Everyone is welcome even if you're homeless or live in plywood box. We're also looking for more volunteers who are willing to offer home tours so please see below for details. Full schedule will be sent at a later date.

**VOLUNTEERS PLEASE COMPLETE**:
Please fill out this section and return to Joshooah Lovenkraft by WED JUNE 24th. I'll make up a tour schedule and make sure the times are still ok with all the participants before sending out the list as a group notice on Friday June 26th.

1. Yes, I'd like to volunteer my home for the forum members' home tour. My name is:

2. Please insert the landmark or SLURL for your home here. If you're not comfortable with sending out an LM to your house, you can also just post the SLURL to your house in group chat on the day of the event, rather than have an LM sent out in the group notice schedule. Please insert the landmark for your home here or state that you'll post in group chat on the 27th: INSERT LM

3. Add a short description of your home if you'd like eg: "Josh's awesome treehouse where you might encounter a tornado during your visit!": insert optional description

4. Ideally we'd like you to be there to greet visitors to show folks around or answer questions. You don't have to be there all day, just let us know what times you will likely be there. It can be as long or as short as your schedule permits. Also note, that we will remind folks to please respect the times in which you are offering a tour. What times in SLT time, will you be personally available to greet people: from _____ SLT to ______ SLT

5. If you'd like to open up your home that day, even if you might not be able to be there - please indicate the times in SLT when folks are allowed to drop by: from _____ SLT to ______ SLT

I'll send out the full schedule to all volunteers on Wednesday June 24th just to confirm. Group notice with LMs, times and schedule of home tours will go out on Friday June 26th. Thanks for your interest and volunteering your homes. Please IM Joshooah Lovenkraft if you have any questions.

Thanks Joshooah! Idea: if people cannot be at their home, would folks like to put out a mailbox with the tour poster on the side, for folks to drop in a notecard with any comments, neat pictures they took, or questions about the place?

a shocking number of prims with floating text are effectively mailboxes.

Once I have the schedules from everyone, what I will do is send the full draft schedule to all the volunteers just to make sure I didn't mess up the times/lms etc. At that time I'll also make an optional mailbox thing you can place on your land where folks can drop off pics, notecards etc for feedback :) I think there is a forum cartel flickr group so people can post pics there as well. I'll get the details for that later and will be noted in the final schedule notecard.

Draft schedule will go out late Wednesday June 24 to volunteers and the finalized schedule for home tours will go out late Friday June 26 as a Forum Cartel Hangout group notice as well as being available for pick up at the cartel. Tour away on Saturday June 27th!

Hi folks, just a quick reminder that today is the last call for sending info to me for the Forum Cartel Home Tours on Saturday June 27th. I've received notecards from, Gabriele Graves, Seven Okelli, Weston Graves, LeeLee Szymer, Lelia Wakawaka, Rock Vacirca, Ashe1 Writer, Ghosty Kips, Victor1st Mornington, Bodhisatva Paperclip, Melita Magic, Carter Denja, Litta Nightfire & Cee Edman, Jackie Silverfall, Soen Eber, Nic Writer. If I somehow missed or forgot you on this list, could you please send your notecard again to Joshooah Lovenkraft. If you still want to volunteer your home, you can grab the notecard to fill out at the Forum Cartel Hangout http://slurl.com/secondlife/Allana/162/35/37 or look in the group notice history and return to me asap. Please send me an IM or forum PM if you have any questions.

I'll be sending all volunteers a draft copy of the schedule tonight (Wed) just to make sure I didn't mess up their listing. The final schedule for the event will go out to everyone in a Forum Cartel group notice on Friday evening and will also be available by clicking the Home Tour sign at the Forum Cartel Hangout http://slurl.com/secondlife/Allana/162/35/37. We're got a really nice, diverse and interesting set of homes across the grid with most available for tours all day long. Volunteers will be around throughout the day to show you around their homes and answer any questions so it should be fun! Thanks again to all the volunteers for their hospitality so be sure to come check things out on Saturday.

goddamn my house has 56 1024x1024 textures. i lag so hard in my house i cant even chat, then the client freezes up on me and and i have to give the three finger salute and kill processes :o(
so currently i am living on a mystitool platform at 2000m. i use the grass texture and enable the rails... outside of that its not a very special platform. i doubt anyone would find my mystitool platform that exciting. i sit up here and think... and i will do some work out here as well. i have a house to fix, and this isnt the day anyone wants to talk to me about the sanctity of perms...
but i definitely want to be kept in the loop because i want to see everyones house!
