It's Monday June 15th @ 4pm SLT and I think I'm gonna try to see if I can organize a forum members' home tour starting at my house if anyone is interested. I'll announce it in group chat in a few minutes and we can hop from house to house if anyone is willing to volunteer their space as we tour around the grid and have tea and cookies

Oh, that sounds like fun! I wish I was inworld right now to come along. That's ok Nimue .. it was a massive FAIL. It was kinda last minute plus no one really knows me so I'm surprised no one came lol. I could be a serial killer or something I'll try again some other time maybe on a weekend._____________________

Aw. Definitely try again - maybe post a notice in the hangout or something, too.
It sounds like a fun idea. Maybe just a bad time of day - (many) people are either coming home from work or still working (on a weekday) at 4 PM SL time. Others (Europeans) might be in bed by then. It is midnight or one a.m. in some time zones. _____________________

I think if there was a little advance notice it would be easier to get a group together. _____________________

@ clarissa and nimue: Oh I'll definitely give it another go with a bit more notice. it was very last minute and i thought i'd give it a try but a planned event might be a better idea rather than something impromptu.
anyone else can pipe in if they want to volunteer to show their homes and maybe we can come up with a good date/time for everyone? _____________________

I love to show off my home! And our build in general....
I'm never inworld before 7 pm SLT on weekdays though... Might be too late for most. But definitely come by for a Sunday party! The more the merrier. Just IM me for a TP, if there's no notice in the Cartel Group. I think Cx doesn't want to feel like he's spamming the Cartel by announcing every party. _____________________

Sounds great to me, although I don't have a real home set up.
My gf has a treehouse set, but we never decorated it. The entire sim is my home and am basicly more on platform than anywhere else there ![]() But interested people can always come by, and a tour during such an event would be fun. Got a few fun things to do: human canon, propell yourself across the sim. training dolls that move around that you can attack with various weapons Bumpercars that I edited into bumper boats with a shark swimming underneath the area ![]() Still decorating the sim though, and ideas are always welcome ![]() _____________________

I go on tours around SL to get inspired for building. Kind of the same... so don't need to keep it a secret ![]() To be clear: Yes other builders inspire me. And I would feel honored if someone felt inspired by my work. I go around looking at buildings of others to get inspired, NOT to copy ![]() ] _____________________

People can drop by my sim anytime, only part of it is commercial the rest is public hangout areas. I have a cottage on the ground there, but it is totally public - part of the "Romantic Forest" thing I have going on there. Sim name - Nimue Isle.
I live in a skybox, and I would love to have people over as part of a tour viewing homes. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to time. For reference, I am in the US, and I stay up late. ![]() _____________________

Y'all are welcome to stop by my place. (I don't have a SLURL handy, but it's in my profile picks.) The entire ground level is open to the public. It's kind of a mess right now because I took some things out to rearrange and haven't done it yet... maybe I can sneak in-world and put 'em back down.
If I'm on, I'd also be happy to TP folks up to my skybox, which is a bit of a work in progress but I'd love some opinions. Or if this gets more organized, I can provide a LM or SLURL. _____________________

I'd like to be part of the tour, too. I just finished decorating my house.
I have a massive bed that has a jumping-on-the-bed animation and even dances in it, and I made a little thingy you can click to get a pillow-fighting pillow. I'll take some pictures, so you can prepare mentally. . _____________________

@olila: I loved that video too. I'm always impressed by people that are unafraid to do their own thing with passion.
so who is going to organise the tour? I don't mind getting things going. How I did it before was blocking off a date and time slot first. I'm thinking it might be better to do it the weekend after this one to allow maximum flexibility for time zones plus there is an anniversary party this weekend and father's day in some part of the world this coming w/e I think. Since people might not want have their home locations publicly posted in a thread or lms so my thought is to designate a "forum members home tours day". That day anyone who wants to show their house would announce it in group chat and folks can drop by and take a look and ask questions etc. It's real time and you're not posting your location for everyone to come by at inopportune times and the homeowner can show off all their little fun things to people that show up and when it's convenient for them. I just joined the forum cartel group so I'm not sure if everyone can post notices or if I'd have to pass that along to one of the mods to send as a notice. How does Sat June 27th sound for "home tour day"? _____________________

The date is great. I do want to be there when people come so that I can meet people and point at things and so on. . Ya I think this might be the best way in terms of coordination for such a big group rather than trying to designate specific time slots for each person since things come up and might be a logistical nightmare. I can also ask to have it put on the forum google calendar from Feline and double check if it's ok to send a notice. The bed sounds like an awesome idea .. it'll be like going to a hotel and getting to bounce on other people's furniture lol!! _____________________

I can also ask to have it put on the forum google calendar from Feline and double check if it's ok to send a notice. I added it to the calendar with a "Time TBD" designation until you get a start time worked out. When a time is decided, please let me know, since I may lose track of this thread. I believe in the past, tours (shopping tours, mostly) have taken place with a gathering hangout at a certain time and then left from there. On most occasions, I think there was a notecard or other list of LMs/SURLs provided so that people could "catch up" and would not require someone to TP people individually to the next location. All members of the Cartel have rights to send notices. If you send me an IM to remind me inworld, I will send you a copy of the "group notices guidelines" notecard that LittleMe wrote a while back. _____________________

I'd love to participate in a home tour; I adore my (well, Carter's) little home and would be happy to show it off, along with the public garden my girlfriend is just finishing next door. (She is the same designer who built Madhu's Cafe.) I'll keep an eye on the Cartel notices for more about this.
If I can be permitted a little plug, on the subject of Forum Cartel parties, a lot of Cartel people come to the almost-weekly Monday night event at my place, and everyone is of course welcome. _____________________

I posted in The Thread, and thought it might be well repeated here.
The sim where I live and my house is open at all times to any visitors for such visits. Being a night creature and on the NZ time zone it is unlikely I will be there myself unfortunately. The sim is Watchman and my house is the gothic mansion with the graveyard. _____________________
