I am not a builder/creator in SL at all. I shop, do hunts, socialize, and generally just try to look pretty, classy, and sexy most of the time. Well, I originally received a house from a building friend and he gave it to me full perm. I always wanted a few things a bit different and decided to learn building by rebuilding it the way I wanted it. I loved having something to start with. It is taking forever, partly because it took a while for me to really find the time and the true enthusiasm for it and partly cuz I needed a mentor to help and encourage me. I started the project many months ago but have only really been making visible progress in the last month or two. So, when I am finally done, I am going to have a party and invite all the Forum folks to come see. And probably post various pics also -- generally be a major show off and attention whore. And everyone better come see and gush all over it.

Actually, the Harem party IS at our home! Feel free to bop around while you're there ... play with the bumper cars ... say a little prayer in the chapel for the degenerates in the sky ... pet the kitty on the sofa by the fire ... sit in the courtyard and watch the ancient birdbath spawn obscenely primmy birds ... don't trip over the steer skull! Feel free to use the outhouse.
Oh, and if there's a scummy looking ranch-hand around the bunkhouses, give him a wide berth. They've figured out how to use the private Intan, and I think we'll be lucky if we don't have baby ranchhands running around soon! *shudders* .

From: Feline Slade I took care of it this morning. Thanks. As an added note - we almost never announce any of our parties/gatherings here in the forums because that is not really what RA is for. We do however, often mention them in the Undying Thread, in addition to the inworld group notices and group chat.

Okay - someone asked in the group 'where do I find harem clothes?' I decided to put some store/places/SLurls here too in case anyone else would need to know this. In no particular order. Please note, some stores may have partial avatar nudity in their product posters. Places both male/female can find desert/harem clothes/accessories: If you drop in to Kingdom of Sand roleplay sim, you can get a box of free male or female clothes (it's an ancient Arabic roleplay sim). I think the female one is harem pants and top. At the other end, 2 rooms of vendors with various appropriate harem wear, ornamental weaponry, and a rideable camel (make a big entrance Lol). http://slurl.com/secondlife/Purgatorio/240/221/225Ripped. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Kailiauk/196/185/40 (for males: bedouin (desert cloaks), or kajirus - male 'harem' slave; for women, the same) Haven Designs at Analise: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Talana/92/122/21 (for males: kajirus; for females, kajira/harem girl silks) Harem Room: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Alcis/149/116/40 (male or female silks) Kingdom Fantasia: http://slurl.com/secondlife/FRANCE3D%20Colombes/38/203/27 (male or female silks, female 'harem pants' with silks, also female burqas) Analise: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Talana/181/211/22 (male/female slave wear, male tunics) A lucky chair in 'slavewear' room, and a lucky chair in "FM & FW" room. Zaara: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Zaara/159/144/34 Saris, ornamental 'dancer' jewelry/foot ornamental jewelry, upstairs. (Modern clothes downstairs) Gorgeous saris various types (some can also be used for 'belly dancer'). Also for men, "jodhpuri" Indian outfit, and turbans in 3 colors. (Blue, aqua, or red.) Husky GFX: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Chinook/129/231/30 (large store for men's and women's roleplay gear, just look around.) Gorean Freebie Market: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Grace%20Isles/246/103/23 (silks for men or women, as well as other things that might be good props etc., if you do not land in the free market, then fly around til you find the outdoor mall that is on the wooden flooring. "Kajira" is female, "Kajirus" is male.) Places for (only) women's silks/harem wear: Beautiful Sin http://slurl.com/secondlife/Parallax/127/190/37 (also has four lucky chairs) Second Moon http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hunters%20IV/91/198/29N. Escher Fashions http://slurl.com/secondlife/Noyo/114/55/26 very nice variety of chalwars (harem pants) plus also gowns for ladies of the time (bit pricey!) Bina: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cluj/33/69/703 (it's Gorean, so the silks are mostly the more practical/bare/worn out variety, not the glamour silks. Oh and 3 lucky chairs in-store, and a $1 Linden box of veils upstairs.) Places for (only) men's silks: Head - Toe Menswear: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Liberty%20Central%20N/230/186/52Silks room is to the right at the main landing point (downstairs). These silks are a bit more 'masculine' perhaps. ____ I realise I've left it a bit late but then last minute people without time to shop are who I had hoped to help. =P

There is also a Forum Cartel events calendar for noncommercial (social) events. http://forumcartel.com/events.htmIf you're a Google Calendar user, Google Calendar allows you to display events from multiple calendars at once, including those from the Forum Cartel calendar. Click the "+ Google Calendar" button at the bottom right of the calendar display to add the calendar to your Other Calendars, where you can toggle display of events on and off. If you have an event you'd like to list, send me an IM. Cartel members can get access upon request to post events themselves.

Oh and I also have free male AND female silks (don't ask - I just get any freebie that looks fun, basically, in case anyone needs it - I'm a cartoon girl scout). They are full perm/giveaway stuff. Should I set them out at the hangout shelves, or just at the party?
Freebie Dungeon has freebie silks too but they are the ones from a couple years ago. Gorean Freebie market has former lucky chair/freebie items from places like Ripped.

From: Nina Stepford what ever happened to meeting one another at their homes? i remember this being one of the more memorable aspects of cartel get togethers. less of an event, more of a pug. brendas back porch, anns little island, my workshop, etc. seeing where each other lives, how they live, these were far more intimate than a clubhouse. I liked those too. The "Hey,I'm home, c'mon over" in group chat, and seeing who would pop in. I don't have it anymore I think, but there was a great pic of you and Chris at Annie's place, it looked like you were actually being civil towards each other.

If you go to the hangout and find it empty, you might try staying for a while. When I go and no one's there, I sort my inventory and try on outfits I haven't yet worn. I figure that people using the HUD might show up if someone's hanging around, and it does happen.

So, I finally got round to adding a utility to the wikiTiPi site that extracts all SLurls from a chunk of text. http://www.wikitipi.com/additions.htmCopy and paste Clarissa's post into the text area and hit Go! to add all the locations to your wikiTiPi account. And when you're inworld you can TP to the shops wearing your wikiTiPi HUD. (Okay, so it's too late for the Harem Party but there's bound to be another opportunity to wear Gorean clothes ).

. I used the little icon on the hangout hud the other night when I went over to vote for the tshirt; I ended up someplace scary! Tried again using my own LM and got there safely that time.......maybe was just a glitch, anyone else find their hangout hud LM icon not work right?

Thanks Slack! And yep...silks seem very popular in SL for one reason and another. All mine came from Lucky Chairs. I'm...lucky that way! (Also I tried to only list shops that had a decent product; the simpler silks can be gotten at freebie marts...) @ Treasure: I dunno. I don't have the HUD. I dislike HUDs in general, though. I just use the landmark every time. I do wish the hangout showed up in search!

For some reason LSL sometimes uses the coordinates you're at when opening the map (not just in the Hangout HUD, it's a bug I can replicate in any scripted object). I've not been able to find a workaround. Maybe someone else has one. Only safe way out is to open the map twice.

I had to use it the other day, because one of my alts didn't have it landmarked

I found it in search before, I think it's listed as "forum cartel hangout - clubhouse" I finally got around to getting the hud. Well actually I went for the mysti-tool plug in which works really well so I can save my screen real estate. Besides the forum hud, I believe there is some sort of a zhaoII plug in as well if you want to integrate it into your AO hud.

searching...no results found
06-15-2009 13:41
Hm I did try that before but maybe SL was borking that day. There's been days when (other) places I know are in search show up as 'no results' with the same search name as always.

Nina, put me down as another one that thinks a Cartel Members Home Tour and/or home gatherings are good ideas.
I love the Hangout, but seeing other people's builds is fun too.
To the OP:
If you go to the Hangout...hang out there a while, even if it's empty. Very often, someone will see your presence on their HUD and drop by to see what's up. Once there are three or more people there, the attraction becomes even more powerful, and pretty soon there is an informal party in session.
While you are there, get the link to the Forum Calendar page. It will remind you of upcoming scheduled events.
It's not at the Hangout, but Madhu Maruti has been holding a fairly regular party at her lovely Bollywood-themed skybox every...um, Tuesday evening, I think.
Also, ConductorX Nieuport and his partner Allegria Kanto often hold a weekend wrap-up party on Sundays, around 4-6 pm SL time, at their Refugio build in Lebettu sim.
You'll find a lot of Cartel members at either one of these.

And the great thing about the Cartel Hangout is that there are no "Grudge Bannings" like other places.

Maybe I'll start one in group chat after dinner this evening, except I'm a bit worried some of you might pee in my pool.

Mondays However, she isn't holding it tonight - RL obligations have called her away.
