In-world Forum parties?

Do forum people ever have regular in-world get togethers? I know there is the clubhouse which I went to once and no one was around. Some days the forums and the people seem way more interesting than any offerings in-world, but in some ways I was glad the clubhouse was empty when I visited because some of you really scare me ;P

We have informal gatherings that sometimes turn in to small parties (often on a Fri or Sat evening) and we have scheduled announced parties -- announcements sent out via the Group Notices. As a matter of fact, the 2-yr birthday party is in a week, on Sun the 21st. We are hoping to make it go thru most of the day so that the Europeans can come party also.

You should come to this upcoming party.

Yeh the hangout has parties sometimes. I haven't been to one but I've seen the notices.

Has the harem party come and gone?

Oh yes, I think I tried joining the group before but then noticed it was invite only. I'd like one too please unless I have to go through some initiation ritual that involves sacrificing prim babies first before I'm allowed to join.

i think i have only went on a shopping spree with the cartel myself but if was fun..it was nice to see everyone in world..and oh god i spent so much that day lol
i hadn't went shopping with a group in a while and forgot what fun those trips can be =)

i keep meaning to stop in but haven't been in world as much lately..

The group is currently closed because there is voting going on for a t-shirt contest. I think it opens up again in a few days.

BTW, I'd suggest getting the Forum HUD if you don't have one already. It's available when you TP in, on the porch. This way, you'll be able to tell when people are at the Hangout, instead of coming over and winding up being the only person there.

Frequently, as Lil mentioned, people come over to do things like organize inventory and it does wind up becoming sort of a mini-party. It's a lot more fun to sit there with friends and chat while sorting your crap than doing it alone

If you've never been to a Cartel party, this is a great time to meet your forum pals/enemies, or, of course, their alts!

And remember - what starts in teh forumz, stays in teh forumz. Except for romances. Those are welcome everywhere.

what ever happened to meeting one another at their homes? i remember this being one of the more memorable aspects of cartel get togethers. less of an event, more of a pug. brendas back porch, anns little island, my workshop, etc. seeing where each other lives, how they live, these were far more intimate than a clubhouse.

We did used to have this Boy Toy thing that required some pole dancing on the bar...... but that was long long ago.



The membership is normally open enrollment but we have some voting going on until tomorrow and so we closed the enrollment just to help prevent vote rigging (okay - I see that Elora covered this one).


Definitely grab this HUD -- there is a shelf of freebies on the deck and it is on the shelf somewhere. We really need to make it more visible since it is directly related to the Hangout.

That still happens in a few ways: Things like Litta and Cee's Anniversary party are announced to the group and misc random get togethers will sometimes be announced via group notice and sometimes via group chat. Also, wheneven a mini-party starts randomly at the Hangout, we'll invite folks over via group chat.

@nina: I love the idea of having a little hangout spot but I also love the idea of being invited to someone's house as well. Not that long ago, I organized a tour of homes for the people in my little community. It was quite fun having people explain all the little features of their homes and giving lms of where they got stuff before we progressed to the next one. I really enjoyed the thread where folks showed off their places in pics so it might be fun to do an in-world tour. People could volunteer in group chat/or to a in-world gathering of an slurl to their homes and we could spend a few minutes at one place sipping tea and eating cookies before the next volunteer would tp us to the next house. Doing it in real time, rather than posting slurls so you don't get people coming at all hours, might be fun for those interested.
