Are RL trademarks used in-world intended to be ironic?

There is a simple way to resolve this. Call up Nikon and ask them permission. If they say yes, all is well. If they say no, change your logo and move along. End of debate.

The point is that these laws/practices are there to protect customers from the sullying of a reputation by use of an unapproved, inferior product. If he started a business in your name and used outhouses, it might change your opinion of whether or not it's right to piggy back off your name.
