From: Eli Schlegal I don't know that it won't... but I would wait and see, and then if it did turn into a worse situation *then* I would file the AR.
Honestly... and I'm ashamed to admit this, I do have some actual experience with this type of situation. Several months ago a woman put a bunch of really not nice crap in her profile about me that wasn't true. I did exactly what I am advising the OP to do... I put her on my mute list and I never even let her know that I had seen the stuff in her profile. It went away. I don't know how quickly it went away... because I wasn't sitting there obessively clicking her profile every day to see if she had changed it... but it did go away. So... in that way, yes I do know that ignoring can work. Obviously every situation is different. My ex was not your ex just as much as your ex is not the OP's ex. So the OP knows both our stories and can make a choice, now. We probably didn't really help much lol In any case I'm sorry to hear about anyone who has to deal with this stuff.

Chances are he will take it down once he finds another person to replace it.

Yes. That usually is what gets a harasser/stalker to leave someone alone, grim as that is.

From: sable Valentine Chances are he will take it down once he finds another person to replace it. I wonder if I could ask him to put my name there instead of the OP's? My rep could use a little beefing up. .

I was stalked in RL for almost FIVE years. He finally gave up when he met someone else. The guy was just freaky, not really harmful. Just a huge pain in the ass. I think I changed my number about 50 times in that 5 years and he kept getting it. Last I heard,he ended up stalking that girl for years too...

From: Eli Schlegal The only reason to AR or retaliate in your own picks would be if you want to perpetuate the drama. Some people do thrive on it. I say... let it go. Eventually he will get tired of it and take it out of his profile. It really does make him look like an ass. Don't stoop to his level. 1 user agrees.

Dude looks like a total loser who can't spell or use logic (I think he meant that you were worse than dumpster juice and not better? Which of course begs the question of what exactly he does with dumpster juice that led him to this conclusion.).
What kind of friends is he going to make with that on there? As long as he didn't bring RL into it, I wouldn't AR it, just ban, mute and be done with it. If it was me, I would laugh my ass off every day that was on his profile.

From: Petra Swansen Pep - are you for hire to screen people before I accept a friendship offer or get too involved with someone? I definitely need your talents. based on what I've watched a few female friends go through, I'm kind of wondering if the rule is "if a women is attracted to a guy, odds are he's a jerk". And being told "yeh, you told me so" and watching them latch on to another jerk...

What can I say Argent, except that yes, we are trusting saps who look for the best in people and go through SL with our fingers crossed. But honestly, my experience has been that we are latched onto and our defenses are often worn down. I guess that's the 'sap' part. And FYI - it's usually not the big hot brawny man that gets us either. Maybe that's worth thinking about for all of us - if you're going to get your heart broken, why not have it broken by Mr./Ms. Universe and instead of Billy/Billie the Grocer, or whatever. Eh, just making myself nuts and taking others along for the ride ...

You know, Argent and Pep, it sometimes happens - oh so rarely - but SOMETIMES men make bad choices too. I realize that you men are stronger and smarter than us, but... but... oh, I forgot what I was saying! I guess I am just a ditzy girl who falls for bad men. What can I say? .

The girl in that picture is obviously thinking, "Is he cleaning his ear with that hand? Ewww!" .

Well, I did some research and found out who this masked idiot is by the OP's profile, where she states his name...I sent him a message in world telling him how funny his pick really is and that he should check out this forum, I have to say he really is dumb as a stump and he quickly muted me.
To the OP....do not worry what this guy says in his profile, he is just stating the obvious to everyone else that he really is missing a few brain cells if he expects anyone to take his pick seriously.

two of my favorite quotes..
"trust no one" (or the corollary, trust people to do what THEY think is in their best interest)
and
"everybody lies" (no corollary)

From: Annabelle Babii The pick is in violation of TOS based on the PG standards required on all profiles.
That, and the RL disclosure. He just bought himself a one way ticket to bansville. No he didn't. The worst thing that will happen is a 24 hour suspension and a nasty gram from Linden asking that he remove the offending words, or be suspended a bit longer. Trust me on this. I had someone divulge not only rl information about me in their picks, but a bonafide threat, which is a federal crime. I was all over Linden to ban the person, and I had friends ARing her, just as I was. All she got was a one day suspension. Yes, I did call the FBI, but they said I'd need to contact local police for this. Unfortunately, I had no idea what part of the state she lives in, so I had to let it drop.

From: Imnotgoing Sideways I remember being on someone's profile hate-rant. A few friends pointed it out to me. Ironically, one of the statements made was that I didn't have any friends. (^_^)
It's probably still there. I didn't care enough to address it or remember the name of the person. (^_^)y My profile is all about you, darlin'.
