You've been in SL too long when....

You know you've been in secondlife too long when you end up spending more time in the forums than you do in-world.

After a few hours on SL, I often catch myself trying to use alt-mouse to change the POV on webpages or other PC apps.

And occasionally - just occasionally - have to stop myself saying "/me laughs"...

When you start thinking about moving your RL house up 300m into the sky.

Oh, oh, I've been reading the forums lately, thanks for the warning.

I also fly a lot now in my dreams when I'm sleeping (never had flying dreams before)...........oh,oh!!!!!

I was at the garden center yesterday and bought pampass grass, because it looks so nice in SL

When you get the strange feeling while going to the bathroom that somebody is camming in on you.

... you join/stay in an SL group because you like to wear the title.

And on the topic of SL spilling over into RL...

The other night I was at my son's band concert when someone walked by in a white shirt with black designs. When I saw him out of the corner of my eye, my first thought was, "Ah. Missing textures..."

You see a real life crisis and say to yourself "damn griefers..."

You attempt to build your own house and find out just how difficult it really is.

You think it's faster to jump out the window then to take the elevator. guess we have fall damage here huh?

You arrive late to a meeting and while digging in your briefcase for your documents and a pen, you say, "Sorry, I'm still rezzing."

When you try to pan, zoom and use your camera controls on a regular web page.

When you got to actually do RL yard work, and sit there trying to figure out how many prims you'd need to make it pretty while still fitting within your prim limit. Yes, folks, I tried this, before I realized that I was actually IN RL and not in SL.

...something in RL breaks and you put your right hand on your hip, extend your left arm towards it and wish you could edit the script.

Many of the above, and some of these have been said but:

When I'm tidying at home RL and get an urge to extend my arm to "Take" objects

yes, and I've doe the "Sorry, I'm still rezzing" too lol

When people at work ask what you did at the weekend and you start talking about what you did/ who you saw SL

Wanting to TP all the time in RL

Having the urge to click on RL people to see their profiles

Thinking of yourself more and more in terms of your SL avatar (not necessarily a bad thing)

Thinking about SL all the time when you are away in RL ... and thinking being in RL is the away bit (whoops!)

Wanting to set yourself to Away or Busy and getting annoyed when people interrupt you

Keeping ridiculous hours because SL friends are in different time zones

Now that I've been in SL two years...

...I CANNOT look at ANYTHING in RL without mentally breaking it down into prims and making a count...then re-analyzing it to see if I can save prims anywhere...

I do the same thing. I look different at buildings than before.

Lol, well is that worse or better than doing custom shapes?

I look at random attractive people and wonder if I could duplicate their figure or facial structure in Second Life.

...and looking at RL people, wondering how you would set the sliders to recreate them

....dreams where I'm in my RL house but outside the window is my SL house's view

....driving down the street, marvelling at how quickly everything rezzes!

.....when you prize yourself out of your seat in the early hours of the morning with a raging thirst and try to click on your fridge to get a drink.

Last week while walking the dogs in RL I saw two people chatting and they looked really strange to me. I couldn't figure out why at first and then I realized....they weren't moving their hands like they were typing!

.....when you take the time to respond to questions on chat forums asking you how can you tell if you have been in SL too long.

lol...i will assumed that you are mature enough to hold up to your real life, get a real life and SL is just a game for your leisure time only

...When you read these 3 posts, look at their join dates, suddenly realize that its your 4th SL anniversary and think to yourself "damn noobs".

You know that you HAVE NOT been in SL too long when you don't know that the join date listed on the forums is the date that you put payment information on file and not the date that you entered SL

In addition to the fact that many long time residents with premium accounts have more recently created alts ))) LOL

My husband can't post because he's not registered but he says he finds himself looking in trees for money now.
