Also, sometimes the other was just looking for a nice little conversation and didn't have a hidden agenda. And somewhere along the line they got the idea that this other might actually be interesting, "date worthy". So, they start down that conversation path. And then a thread is made about them being a smelly weirdo.

But then, IMs from people I've never met and can't see are a bit unnerving, I feel. Especially ones who don't take the time from the start to tell you where/why they felt obliged to IM.
I'm with you on NOT feeling flattered by a guy obviously blind-trolling for 'company' that way. It really does help to know it's not just me. I know being called that way is no big deal in most ways, but, well, it can lead to discomfort. I'm going to view the whole thing as a learning experience. Next time, I won't be so off balance (I hope). |
