i don't have a mic so have not used it, i'v heard voices of a few friends tho and thats.... interesting
but what the hell is up with people always having it on? surely there is a button you can hold down to talk, gees lady i don't wanna hear you talking to your husband or yelling at your dam dog in RL
not to long ago there was some lady have a big cry in open voice chat about god knows what, she was quickly muted and i have not used voice chat since...well not in that sandbox anyway
some things need to be kept to yourself or done in IM
(rant over)

E) (Off topic) Whats the most distubing thing youve seen in a movie? (For me its Big Mommas House 2, when he is in suit and wearing a cheedleading uniform, I wish I didnt catch that just now) a) I use voice sometimes; rarely. b) It's both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because in some cases talk is just plain easier. A curse because it can be very divisive if you are trying to talk and type at the same time so as not to leave anyone out. c) I mostly ignore it, sometimes listen, once in a while talk. d) It was the scene in "Clockwork Orange" during which the William Tell Overture was played extra fast. Deeply, deeply disturbing juxtaposition, though I was laughing uncontrollably the whole time (it was as hilarious as it was disturbing). I suppose being in college at the time with my buddies and having just had a couple of awful beers helped.

a) do you use it? No. Never. Snowflake's chance
B) Is voice a blessing or a curse and why? I don't notice it either way.
C) Do you actually talk on it or just listen? I neither talk nor listen and never will.
D) does it bother you why others don't talk with it? No. I'd prefer others not talk with it in my world, my imagination.
E) (Off topic) What's the most disturbing thing you've seen in a movie? Text chat with me in world if you really want to know this.

Concurred. I once got to hear in explicit detail all about a customer's urinary tract infection. The twitch in my eye has yet to go away.

a) do you use it? Yes B) Is voice a blessing or a curse and why? It's gouda for me. I can chat and continue building without the need to stop and type. C) Do you actually talk on it or just listen? Talk around coworkers, mostly listen everywhere else. D) does it bother you why others dont talk with it? Not at all. It's my preference to use it. S'not going to kill me to type for those who don't. E) (Off topic) Whats the most distubing thing youve seen in a movie? I'd have to say the part of Final Destination 3 where the truck get's slammed in the drive through and drives the fan into the guys head. The effects just made me go.....whooooa.

a) Do you use it? Occasionally
B) Is voice a blessing or a curse and why? It just is, I don't see it as either
C) Do you actually talk on it or just listen? I've done both... normally I don't use a headset so I have to relog if anyone expects me to talk.
D) Does it bother you when others don't talk with it? Not at all, most places I go to, I don't think anyone even uses it. The few times I have used it was with people that are already friends.
E) (Off topic) What's the most disturbing thing you've seen in a movie? Just about anything that Austin Powers does.

E) (Off topic) Whats the most disturbing thing youve seen in a movie? Paris Hilton

When I want to use voice it's not in Second Life. I hope that answers your question.

Oh why the hell not. a) do you use it? Yes. When I feel like it, strictly on those terms. Very rarely in public because most public voice chats are simply not interesting to me. This means I use it with friends occasionally (mainly just to let them know "this is me" and get a sense of them too which is not happening to that degree without it). I am picky on why and who with. I have no worries at all about using voice, my RL work involves being the "voice" of various companies in the UK (when you get that annoying voice menu it could be me, sorry! I did a lot of client contact things a few years ago). Of course, I just talk on it, I don't use my "professional" voice. B) Is voice a blessing or a curse and why? It's an enhancement if you choose to use it. C) Do you actually talk on it or just listen? See above. I don't enable it unless I have someone I want to talk to. D) does it bother you why others dont talk with it? Not really. I see it as a bonus anyway. And a challenge in the case of a certain diehard denier who knows who they are. E) (Off topic) Whats the most distubing thing youve seen in a movie? Steven Segal managing to not only avoid muscle atrophy in "Hard to Kill" but also growing a huge beard in hospital. What kind of healthcare system allows a man in a coma to be allowed to grow a beard like that? At least they cut his fingernails! Still, magically, the beard does not create enough wind resistance to slow him down too much when he leaps up from his seven year coma and legs it ...

a) do you use it? Yes, when I'm with friends who I already know in RL, or who I wish to get to know in RL. Or just with people I've known on SL for awhile and want to finally hear.
B) Is voice a blessing or a curse and why? I love it. For example - this weekend I got to hear the voice of a friend I haven't seen in RL in nearly 10 years. It was so good to *talk* to him again (as opposed to just typing)! My face hurt from smiling.
C) Do you actually talk on it or just listen? Both, of course. Just listening is rude (assuming you're able to talk and are listening in on stranger's conversations).
D) does it bother you why others dont talk with it? Not really, although it bothers me when someone I consider a friend won't use it. If I've known someone for several months, I think that's long enough to wait to hear their voice. But I don't hassle them about it. It's their choice, even if I disagree with it.
E) (Off topic) Whats the most distubing thing youve seen in a movie? Violence and murder.

Yes I use it...
I find it's a blessing. Using voice is great for business meetings, discussing a project with a client, shooting the breeze with friends, and expressing subtleties in language and meaning. If you need to keep track of information in a meeting, you can do what is expected in real life, which is to take 'minutes' or notes.
It's a much more efficient way of communicating--on many levels.
If however, someone doesn't use voice, I have no qualms about texting. It is what it is, can be turned on or off, people can be muted...the addition of voice, to me, is only beneficial.
Much detail and reasoning can be debated...but the simple fact is, the technology is good...and SL's sky hasn't fallen since its inception.
Cheers.

A) somtimes
B) Curse. Linux users are still out of the cold. Blessing. I get peace and quiet by being a Linux user. =^_^=
C) I talked once or twice. My voice sounds horrible. I'm rather all ears on the times I've been able to run Vivox's blob on linux
D) No. I rather suggest people type their conversation down. It helps me keep track of a conversation so that I can actually not sound so clueless when theres an active conversation of like 10 people at once.
E) I </3 comedies.

D) I really dont care.
E) (Off topic) Whats the most distubing thing youve seen in a movie?
Ok, movies don't disturb me cause, they are movies.. but once I was researching breast cancer because my Aunt and both my grandmas had it, and came across a picture of a womans breast that looked as if it had larve inside these huge holes.. Ok, I read on after puking my guts out and found out it was a pod flower-breast mash up potoshop job.. omg. I still see this in my head and its been 3 months since.. It creeps me out, I get ill when I think about it.. and I can't get the visual out of my head.. I might need to seek professional help.. Seriously, nothing ever disturbed me more than that photo, even knowing.. (later) it was not real..
