the only mainland I own is a linden home, only visitors I had there that I know off stayed outside but have yet to install a hipposecure in visitor tracker mode depending on the vindings of that I might turn it to whitelist mode limited to parcel with eject/ban action. eject will just send them outside and ban keeps them from getting back inside, offcourse linden homes have no ground outside the house (at least mine doesn't) so no verhicle should be bothered by it.
I did have several stalkerish experiances on my residential private sim, the only search listings are plots for rent so anyone visiting should know it is residential and still people walk right into homes because they see green dots, offcourse they get a good yelling at and one change to get the heck out, failing that they get an estate ban.

in light of this experiance I can fully understand people wanting to keep everyone out their houses and skyboxes on mainland still with the newer line of securety devices like the hipposecure I use myself there is no reason to extend more then about 20 meter around the skybox/house, most can set a perimeter defined by a box and limited to parcel.
Unless you have a crappy verhicle, very low drawdistance or extreme lag (why would one want to fly in extreme lag or low drawdistance anyway?) there is no reason to get closer then 20 meter to a structure, I suspect a 20 meter clearance is a much better compromise then a long time to vacate the area.

That's often been my experience, too. Worst case was a neighbor who came over to my old house, who ended up bein' a bit, um, "stalk-y." But they've not all been bad. Mostly, though, it's noobs who don't seem to get that there can indeed be private residences in the world.

In fact, one of my dearer experiences in SL was being at home and someone wandering the neighborhood was playing at being a door-to-door saleslady, using a Judge Judy soundboard to ask us questions! It was hilarious, to be honest. I also had someone come through and "deliver pizza" in the 'hood, too. That I like.

See, this is why I won't put my house off limits to strangers. The fun factor. Admittedly, Mari has had...well, more G rated experiences that I have with strangers. Mine have been more like Kitty's...people coming by to poach the poseballs. But you know, that's fun too. If they are polite, I've even gone off elsewhere and let them have their fun. And if they are NOT polite, I can always do with a bit of target practice.

LMAO >.< I want the hobo spray !

Kitty please read page two, I have outlined my behavior :D
"I would know I'm not welcome and wouldn't even get on there land in the 1st place"

I don't want to trespass in the 1st place honestly, but it can't be helped if an area hasn't rez'd and there are no ban lines. Its like setting invisible beartraps for passers by.. youd get locked up for it and thrown in a looney bin in the real world .. why is it acceptable here ?

were they alt friends perhaps ? just playing a joke ? No actauly they probably do that thing all the time . I know there are some wierd kinks in some people, all the same there a minoraty I'm sure. I dont have security on my land, or visitor loggers / chat spies, so I have no idea what goes on when Im not there. I've never log'd on n seen anyone misbehaving and I've never found mysteriouse prims ... (autoreturn is set to 0 anyone can rez). but I'm not on the mainland so my case study is probably a bit mute. Now for these rare trespases (I'm going to suppose they are rare I have no proof) one AR and ban/mute poof ... gone - who cares ! shame you have to re adjust the furniture pose, but then thats to be expected without ban lines ? if your in a skybox then fine TP them push them .. attack them with bee's I don't care ... as it won't be me exploring ground level :D watch out for ferrets in hot air ballons though >.< as for those spouting there god given rights .. what do you care, if you haven't muted them by then you must be amused by them in some way no ?

ohhh sorry I just remebered I use ban lines ... of course I don't get problems >.<

No they weren't alt friends. I promise you that. When I tp'd them home and banned them, they were back in seconds on an adjacent parcel. The rental guy who owns most of the sim, except for my parcels, came over and stood outside and banned them from THAT one. They disappeared again, only to return and.......this went on for awhile in different parcels. It did get kind of funny to watch, they were determined, gotta give em that. That's my mainland parcels. It's small and kinda like a summer home. It has special significance to me, it was my first 'safe place' in SL, my rl son owned the parcel before I did, and before I owned any land at all, I used to rez on his roof when still in cartoon noob mode. :) My 'main' residence is an estate and like you say, I really haven't had problems there, it's just the mainland parcel. Because of what I"ve learned in these forums, I no longer use banlines or security orbs, especially on mainland, because of possible vehicle travel and people just passing through. I'm not some kind of nut that can't stand anyone on their land, just what to me is over the top stuff.

No "poseballs" in my house like that anyway, ya. I'm also really good with the "eject and ban" for any troubles, anyway.
