A fabulous pair of fangs I use is called Sensations Sculpted Fangs and costs L$250 - it has all the bite type anims you will need and obviously will let you bite anyone you damn well please as many times as you like.

Now there's clones??? ![]() I don't know if it is another bloodlines or not..i just know people were pretty upset in one of my group channels today about this other one.. I know they were saying things like..at least bloodelines has the garlic necklace that is free and saying this other didn't or that you had to pay to stop this other one.. I was on my lunch break and only caught the middle of it..but it was clear what one they were talking about.. _____________________

I don't know if it is another bloodlines or not..i just know people were pretty upset in one of my group channels today about this other one.. I know they were saying things like..at least bloodelines has the garlic necklace that is free and saying this other didn't or that you had to pay to stop this other one.. I was on my lunch break and only caught the middle of it..but it was clear what one they were talking about.. Here's the info on it from XStreet. Sounds just like Bloodlines with a few minor differences. VITAE Vampire System 3.2 VITAE is a new generation vampire system designed for Second Life users as an addition to real time role play. Using VITAE you will be granted the chance to play the part of a vampire, create your own clan, generate an unlimited number of vampires increasing your status among the vampire society. No soul collection, no blood wealth, no buying blood to feed our sl account!....run your clan fairly and keep your progeny among your ranks, thats how a vampire clan is supposed to be.... VITAE is flexible, its not meant for a specific gameplay style, you decide the ranks and who's in the chain of command. VITAE provides you a unique web interface and it allows you to run your clan even if you are not logged in into SL. We take pride in being the first ones to provide you a Clan Manager and a combat system, no other vampire system at the moment, despite what they claim will ever give you the chance to challenge another user in REAL combat! VITAE is made of two separate components, the HUD itself and the website. The HUD allows the user to perform many of the activities a vampire is supposed to do into Second Life, such as feeding on a victim, turning someone into a vampire and fighting. The website provides a more detailed interface which allows every user to keep track of their stats and, in case of a clan leader, manage clan ranking, titles, eject or allow people in the clan and send messages to every clan member directly in world. FEATURES: - Easy to use HUD, developed to interact with the main website. - Complete clan management system through website interface. Assign custom rank titles to every member of your chain of command. Promote or demote members in real time! - Personal profile page that allows you to add a personal background story to your character. - Integrated combat system. No need to buy a specific combat system every time you change your favorite roleplay sim. The system works with many of the most diffused swords, daggers and knives. - FREE lifetime updates. You can join our ^V^ VITAE ^V^ group in SL to receive technical support and provide feedback about this product. NEWS! We offer packages of 10 and 20 huds at a reduced price! As for the biting thing. If player #2 wanted to bite you, make her buy the potion. I *wanted* #2 to bite me (which she has, now ). The first girl tricked me into it!! (She's the one who owes me L$250 lol) I remember there was a message afterward about possessing my soul, but I thought that was your average talking joke attachment. For future readers, make anyone who wants a bite hand you a potion first... GOOD ADVICE! Or just don't let anyone bite you that you don't wanna be associated with in some game you were not even a part of. _____________________

don't mind me. that was sort of an 'inside job' aimed at the serial seducers and heartbreakers. it was a 'lucky timing thread' and not really aimed at you, at all. ![]() Aww, it's OK. You didn't have to buy it or do anything; have the new girl get another type of bite animator and she can bite you all she wants. Well I did not want to be associated with the other person against my will, so my options were either buy the potion or complain to the makers of Bloodlines... my decision was to go with "Oh haha, ya got me." Well she likes playing it and I like her, so ya know ![]() _____________________

Bottom line, if you want to roleplay, you don't need Bloodlines or any pyramid scheme-type.... Seriously. All they need to do is start giving kick-backs on the potions to the biters. _____________________

You aren't obligated to participate in it. ![]() She can play it, but there's nothing saying she can't play "other" version of that game with you. ![]() Bottom line, don't let someone else's RP business dictate your own RP. |

EDIT: 3Ring I read that like 10x and I still don't get it. Ah Smithy, you are demonstrating astonishing naivety, considering your 2005 generation. First you accept the well-publicised poisoned chalice of the spampire's kiss, then you seem to express surprise that you can't understand a post by 3Ring, when she only has two modes: 1. incomprehensible 2. "Me too". Pep (I have this bridge in New York going real cheap, a bargain; would you be interested?) _____________________

Pep (I have this bridge in New York going real cheap, a bargain; would you be interested?) If I COULD buy it or even afford it, I would, coz it would be really neat to own a bridge in New York across that ... river. Begins with an H. I'd build my house on it like they did in London before it all fell down when some people sneezed. (I just realized that isnt possible coz how do bridges fall down when people have a cold?) _____________________

Pep (you can have six years of experience, or six months of experience twelve times) Did you ever handle that burning problem when you urine? It could be why you are such a friendly person. One thing is for sure though, you definitely show people your best side here, so i guess in that sense, we are lucky. _____________________

(She's the one who owes me L$250 lol) I remember there was a message afterward about possessing my soul, but I thought that was your average talking joke attachment. And that's the scam. They get people in before you know what you're getting into. One of my friends was recently hooked into bloodlines as well, which I found out when she IM'd me sad about people in the Sim she was at getting very hostile to her with 'why do people hate vampires?' - Triggered my red flag, so I discovered this person with a rez date similar to mine, but on her first avatar, had been snookered into bloodlines by some guy. She was then doing what it told her to do, and trying to bite everyone... But the conversation ended when her vampire master arrived where she'd been waiting for him to grace her with his more valuable time for the last hour... ...sigh. It's like watching a friend start dating an abusive lover... I had almost managed to get her to TP over to me as I waited for her at FAB when he showed. FAB being a much more positive environment for to either ween off of bloodlines, or meet some more positive members of it (at least one regular there is in bloodlines, but on the more healthy less abusive end). _____________________

There you go proving my argument yourself again - your pathetic and unoriginal (and inaccurate of course) insults are those of a n00b, or maybe those of a semi-literate cowardly ex-deck-swabber of dubious heritage who parasites off others and attempts to impress those who weren't around to see what a mess you made of things in reality. Would you do that for the probably hundreds to thousands of similar databases out there? If so, you're contributing to the problem. The point is why care? If someone told me I was in the spampire database, I'd go "so?". For those who put my name in their database, have fun! Spam me or otherwise harass me, and there will be ARs. Outside of that, they don't exist in my universe. ![]() |

He cared because his actual friend later wanted to put his name in that database next to her...
And he felt it unfair that the first person was able to put him in there under herself without him realizing it, thus requiring him to have to pay to get in there under the proper second person's name. Its only a scam in that he wasn't properly notified that accepting from the first person would cause him problems later on. _____________________

She got caught up in Bloodlines and next thing you know i am getting angry IMs from her about SL being full of extortionists, pyramid schemes and scammers and then she quit. -BUT, i WARNED her and pleaded fervently to her asking that she not get involved with any of that "pay to play vampire" nonsense. Oh well, another one bites the dust. _____________________

Yeah... in the case of the person I mentioned above - my own friend who got into Bloodlines. I spent an hour listening to her disappointment about how mean people in SL were to her, and just after her to use her...
All while I was dancing in the most friendly club you can imagine, listening to local chat of happy people from all different styles of personality and 'SL kink' hanging out in what often amounts to a nightly 'group hug fest' kind of atmosphere. I did everything but beg her to TP to me, and see that there is something different. I even sent her LMs and a TP request... But her Vampire master ordered her to wait while he was busy, and she did, and got yelled at wherever she was for trying to bite people as ordered... _____________________

Unfortunately, i think there is a lack of vampire setting sims where RP is respected and invited without the need for Bloodlines, or any HUD system for biting or combat. A lot vampire enthusiasts want to experience a vampire lifestyle, and Bloodlines on the outset, looks like a huge community that can provide just that, and for many, it provides it nicely.
I used to LARP Vampire the Masquerade before i came to SL and i never felt any sort of draw to Bloodlines...I love me some vampires, i just don't love HUD using, soul-point scoring, pixel blood stealing vampires that so many in SL want to be. ![]() _____________________

Yeah, I've also met people who do just fine by Bloodlines.
The problem is that the bad people troll newbie hotspots to get their 'soul count' up. Newbies don't know enough to realize what they're getting into, and so they get wrapped up under the bad elements. Bloodlines is HUGE. And chances are 80% or more of the people in it are great people who RP very constructively. Maybe even more of them. But a bad, unethical player, can reap up a massive soul count just hanging out in a newbie island or a popular place to TP off of from there, like Free Sex land or a dance island or a freebie shop... - and then to spread it around and stay up, the unethical master tells those newbies to hit other newbie spots and start biting. Not caring if a few of them get parcel banned for it or abused or even quit SL. That's where it seems my own friend's story is coming in. On my own first day back to SL after leaving in 2006, I had a couple bite spams hit my screen. If I wasn't such an anti-goth in RL, I might have accepted one, and it'd be somebody else writing about me in this post right now... ![]() _____________________

And he felt it unfair that the first person was able to put him in there under herself without him realizing it, thus requiring him to have to pay to get in there under the proper second person's name. Yes, and my point is that he didn't HAVE to pay. It wasn't his only option, under any circumstances. He could have done a little bit of research and found a vampire RP setting for them both to enjoy which wasn't an exploitative scam. Might have even significantly impressed her, demonstrating the lengths he was willing to go to for them to have fun together. Blowing a pea-sized wad of L$ doesn't seem very impressive, to me, at least. ![]() Its only a scam in that he wasn't properly notified that accepting from the first person would cause him problems later on. No, it's a scam because it uses a particularly odious form of viral marketing ALONG WITH that "tactic", encouraging people to be deceptive and induct others who aren't even remotely involved in the RP, nor wish to be. Then, as in his case, when he wants to get "involved" with someone, the "victim" now feels subjugated by it when he doesn't have to be. The best course of action isn't to "feed the parasite", but to remove it. |
