Possibility #1 - The friend is playing out a Buffy/Angel fantasy romance (or more likely Buffy/Spike after Buffy came back from the dead) and she is having cyber-relations with a guy that plays a vampire. In other words, hot steamy sex in a crypt with a hunk who bites her neck a little.
Possibility #2 - Someone is giving her 100L$ a week if she will let them tp in, do a bite request and then tp out.
I really don't see it being any more preditory or cloak and dagger than that. Given the people that play Bloodlines, I'm saying version #2 has more weight than you would think.

From: Scylla Rhiadra /me points up.
What she said.
Pep, can she be your friend too? This all reminds me of Eddie Izzard's observation: "Why do mothers take their kids to supermarkets to smack them?" Pep (Naive people get taken advantage of wherever they are; in rl you have the law to help you; in SL all you have is a mistaken belief in your safety, the ToS and an almost non-existent monitoring committee of unenthusiastic Lindens.)

From: Jax Wrydan I'm not sure what its all about. I am concerned for her. Please help me understand this. Thanks. It's a vampire roleplay. Nothing to be concerned about, SL is not RL. It's just fun.

Oh, nvm. From: Pserendipity Daniels This all reminds me of Eddie Izzard's observation: "Why do mothers take their kids to supermarkets to smack them?" Mum never smacked me in the supermarket. In fact, mum never smacked me at all. Which probably explains a LOT about me, right?

The friend of the OP may not be playing Bloodlines at all. There are other role-plays where there are Blood Dolls, the faction that I am affiliated with in CoLA has Blood Dolls also.
Whilst I would discourage people from entering into the Blood Lines game, I would fully endorse being a Blood Doll in other role-plays.
After all us vampire needs to have backup supplies for emergencies you know.
To the OP I would echo some of the other sentiments here, your friend is obviously having fun, it is all consensual and so you should not be concerned.
For those who wish to know what a Blood Doll is:
A Blood Doll is usually a human (in SL could be any humanoid, often Neko's in fact but has been angels and other races on occasion too) who is in fact a walking Blood Donor for a vampire. There are communal Blood Dolls from which a group of vampires (such as a coven or faction) might use and there are personal Blood Dolls from which a single vampire will feed. The Blood Doll does it because being fed from gives (in most cases) an ecstatic pleasure and over a short period of time that pleasure becomes addictive. The Blood Doll also becomes imprinted with the group or individual after a while and cannot in fact bear to be apart from them and as such become intensely loyal to the vampire. Blood Dolls are usually treated very well by the vampire, like a favoured pet in fact. There can be a submissive and sexual part to the situation also, but that is not necessarily a given.

Speaking of Bloodlines.... When offering myself to a particularly sexy vampire just today, she told me I'd already been bitten by (NAME WITHHELD) and that meant my soul was pending to this other chick (This information is scanned somehow with her Bloodlines gear!!!). Now, I hardly know this other girl-- when she first met me a few weeks ago, she offered to bite me and as a lark, I let her, having no clue of the repercussions. (This new girl, I really want her to bite me... Really, oh yes ). So long story short, I had to buy a Bloodlines "Wormwood Potion" to free up my "soul" and the unwanted association with this other girl ($L250)... (Great business model these Bloodlines peeps got BTW). Since I was not given full disclosure by the first chick, let this stand as a warning to all ya'll mortals about casually letting vampires bite you.

Whoa, extortion! That is like paying the cable company that you have VOIP with to NOT publish your name in their public directory! What the hell!

I just thought it was funny that she wanted to bite me. It gave the blue pop up but it didn't explain any of this crap. And what's the "you people" about? EDIT: 3Ring I read that like 10x and I still don't get it. Let me clarify that I never had any relationship at all with the first girl, just a casual acquaintance that hangs around my place. I never even pixel-slapped her ;P

The combat systems do that, to rate e-peen of the various members, so I guess Bloodlines does that as well. - Out of curiosity, I got a free version of Combat Evolution, and the 75L version of DCS. Both of them told me they were sending data up when I equipped them... As for the biting thing. If player #2 wanted to bite you, make her buy the potion. For future readers, make anyone who wants a bite hand you a potion first...

Both of them told me they were sending data up when I equipped them... DCS and other combat systems allow you to reset your character and do not prevent subsequent feedings. Except for the new Bloodlines clones, the other combat systems do not have anything close to the same model of restrictive game play. To compare them is like...well...why it is like apples and oranges Bloodlines and it's clones are pyramid schemes in which you cannot hope to rise to the lofty echelons of established players due to the way pyramid schemes work, they only peddle the false hope that you can and rely on people who aren't mathematically gifted to be fooled into thinking they can. All the while the scheme operators take your money and probably chuckle to themselves over all of the knuckleheads who fall for it. Bottom line, if you want to roleplay, you don't need Bloodlines or any pyramid scheme-type clone to do that, if you want to play a game, it makes sense to pick one that you have a reasonable chance of doing well at no matter when you started to play.

From: Pussycat Catnap One of my friends is a mouse with some pretty nice boobs that she shows off to the world. Sometimes she's 'Fully Xcite enabled' - you click anywhere near her and somebody's gonna have an orgasm. O.o That's some pretty serious attachments. From: someone Another was, last time we chatted, a dragon with a dildo strapped on going at it with a tentacle monster. Piccies, or it didn't happen! If it did happen, I think it is time for an intervention. <.<

You didn't have to buy it or do anything; have the new girl get another type of bite animator and she can bite you all she wants. The only reason their "business model" is "great" is because people don't realize that it is a tiny little OPTIONAL side-game that *some* residents play. "It says that you've been bitten by someone else!" "Throw that thing away and just bite me anyway!"
