She is the gorgeous lady in my forum avatar =) You will find a Ruth folder in the Library section of inventory. Copy that to a folder of your own, replace outfit, and admire! (Or don't, if you aren't sure where all your normal parts are!)

Ruth has short hair, wears a black blazer and high water pants. She is often confused with Female Test, a whole different avatar with long hair, purple top and jeans.

The W/we U/us Y/you thing I guess would be annoying for someone who doesnt understand it. It is a required thing of most subs/slaves as it is one of the ways to show respect to their Master or Misstress in text. It's not a BDSM thing, it's a respect thing used by people in a D/s relaitonship.

My training never included that, and I'm the s in the D/s. (my training did include something about using "I, me" etc. for self, vs. using "pet" and the like} i.e I am tired vs. pet is tired; but that is a different (though related) subject).

Well I must be more fringe than I thought because I've been domming in SL and RL for 2 years and have never seen that before.

Do you cap Master or Mistress? I always guessed is was a normal thing. Habbit for most. I've been in a few D/s chatrooms and such for over 10 years. Looks strange to me if people don't do it. Guess its just what your used to. *shrugs*

I'm not offended by the questions, but I'm annoyed when they're the way someone opens a conversation because it makes me feel like a target rather than a potential friend.

Only when used as a title. The word "mistress" on its own is just a noun, and shouldn't be capitalized. If someone's addressing me as "Mistress" it's proper to capitalize. I don't enforce that though; it's not like I can hear the capitalization when my RL pet speaks to me. The actions of my subjects speak louder than their syntax.

Don't read controversial forum or blog entries on SL at work when the network's ever-vigilant proxy server determines when to block entire domains based on four-letter word counts per page. (Took about 2 minutes for me to get anything with "secondlife" in the URL blocked at work).

Speaking of Ruth, when you have carefully crafted an awesome looking 7' tall male avatar with full facial hair and every guy that walks up to your av at a lag-laden beach starts hitting on you, go into Edit Appearance and exit. For some reason, a heavy 5-o'clock shadow doesn't seem to tip off the horny guys that SL has borked your appearance and given you breasteses.

And the idea behind the bad english is, its supposed to be "What would a cat sound like if it could talk".

Don't hang around in any sim with lag so bad that you are hardly moving. If it takes a few
minutes to move a couple of meters you should get out of there. It's not worth the frustration.

Don't grind your RL teeth when everything takes a day and a age to rez in/unblur, your Lindens disappear,inventory jumps around like it's on a 32oz supercharged latte, items mysteriously vanished from your inventory , you can't teleport anywhere.

I agree with all of them except this - if you want to learn to build, you have to build. You're going to end up with garbage at first, but so did that experienced builder when he or she first started building. I'm not one to talk, since I can't build for crap in SL, but I went through it in RL when I ran a small custom furniture shop as a sideline business several years ago. I love woodworking. I wish I had kept the first end table I ever made. It took me about a week and looked like something a little kid made by gluing popsicle sticks together. I tossed it, built another, and another and another, and at some point, I got to where I could build whatever I wanted and people would actually pay me for it. It just takes time and practice.

Building in SL is free. Build away. Then trash it, then build it again. Repeat until you get it right.

Don't Wear Nipple Or Clitoral Piercings Over Your Clothes.

That is why you need prim clothes, otherwise you can't wear those type of things, well you can still wear a skirt, carefully. Non-prim clothing is like a second skin, even the "baggy" clothing. So piercings, being prim, are going to show up wherever you put it, and as I noted, as clothing is something like a second skin, those piercings are still going to be visible. The right mix of clothing and prim, though, can work. I mean people in real life do have piercings. Oh, and I know that some piercings can be "hidden" by menu or script or whatever, but that still defeats the purpose.

Don't walk around asking everyone under the sun if you can f**k them or telling them to suck your c**k. I am so tired of people doing that it makes me ill. Believe it or not there are more pleasurable ways to have sex. If people get off on virtual sex in SL, IMHO, they have serious issues.
