Maybe to check whether drama queen abscondee Ciera Spyker had fulfilled her public promise to leave.:D

Pep (She voted - at least ten days after the date she stated she would be going - so she hasn't; surprise, surprise!)
That at least would be an interesting reason. So far the stated reason just does not satisfy *my* interest.

No. I doubt if anyone besides myself would create a 5' 3" tall avatar of average proportions who dresses in non-black clothing, doesn't use an AO and avoids bling like the plague.

Yes. The SL CSI are still looking for the body.

Bodies? I've got bodies. How many do they want?

I am curious, shallow

So now you know WHO voted and in what way, how does that help you in anyway that the pure numbers didn't? Surely there must be a good reason for taking away the anonymity of the voters?

Sure you labeled the poll, no question about that and I am not disputing it but I would like to know what extra "interest" there is in knowing my voting choice which a poll total does not provide. i.e. How does my vote change or confirm your viewpoint of me and others? Surely it is not unreasonable to want to know since you took a deliberate step to set it up this way?

Okay. I wasn't trying to be cagey before. I think you're perfectly reasonable.

First off -- and I'm sure you know this, but I want to say as a CYA -- I figured that anyone who minded having their name shown would not vote.

As far as your question -- I don't think I can answer it the way you asked, but I can tell you how I came to ask it.

I was looking at some pictures of avatars in a club, and saw a woman whose avatar was identical to one of my alts. Someone had been (mildly) bad-mouthing the woman in the picture, and when I saw that she had the same, identical avatar as my alt, I exclaimed, "That b--- stole my avatar!"

I know it was stupid, shallow, idiotic... but I didn't really mean it. I was only surprised, for a sec or two.

Of course, I shouldn't have been surprised. I bought the skin and shape as a set and got the hair recommended on the style card. Since then I've seen some others walking around, and I won't do that (I mean, buy a package avatar) any more.

[And I do remember seeing a girl with the same avatar in Help Island, the professional woman, which has a nice butt. We chatted a bit, and I joked that we ought to go pick up guys together.]

That started me wondering how other people reacted to the same experience, which must be common in SL. Almost immediately I thought of the range of responses. The last one to come to me was "I would neither notice nor care."

So that's where that part came from.

As far as seeing names... that's just curiosity. After reading the forums for a bit, I have some sense of what some of you people are like, and I just wanted to see...

I don't think I can explain any better than that. I was curious, shallow. I like to know things about people.

And I think that anyone who looked at the names has the same feeling and curiosity that I have.

Hope that answers it.

Hugs and happy new year!

Highly unlikely for me. I do my own shapes and buy the skin and hair from separate places.

My "usual" shape was highly modded and so far removed from the stick-thin, 7-foot-tall original that I doubt I'd even recognize it if I saw it on another av. I did have a popular skin for a while, because it worked so well with the shape, but I've since replaced it after seeing it on so many others. I also wore male hair (short) and the entire combo was IMHO reasonably individual... at least as far as your average female human av goes in SL. And that only until the skin turned up gridwide.

These days I change looks often, with various combinations. I also have every item a friend of mine has, for photo shoots (i.e if she crashes I can fill in and/or finish the project). That one also has a modded shape but the rest is off-the-shelf... I still haven't seen another like her though. Maybe nobody thought to put that particular combo together yet. :) All in due time, I'm sure...

OK, thank you for the explanation, I guess that does answer my question. I suppose that it is quite probable in that case any polls you do will be with the same settings and with the same desire to know who voted for what. I was curious to find out if it was specifically for that subject or not. It does not appear to be in light of your answers.

*hugs back* and a Happy New Year to you too :)

PS. Please don't take the directness of my posts as being harsh, it is definitely not the intention.
