Have you ever met your avatar twin?

Have you ever encountered an avatar in SL that had the same shape, skin, and hair as you?

Actually, that raises an interesting possiblity....

I made my own shape and I'm one of very few darker skinned people in SL, so I voted No. I'd like to see more brown people in SL.

I gave someone the shape and info on the skin and hair, so it would be weird to be upset about the similarities =)

I ran into someone who was wearing the same hair but a different shade of red and the same style dress - enough for me to do a double take and strike up a conversation with her...who turned out to be a "him." That kind of gave me food for thought.

BUT!! Something I *did* run into once that amazed me, was an avatar that looked VERY much like me RL. I have all the "elements" of my RL look, but this woman truly looked VERY similar to me in RL. I talked to her as well and she said she worked very hard to get her avatar to look like her RL self. (I think she was wearing the same skin as my avatar, which I rarely see due to it being paler than the SL "norm".)

Since this woman was striving to look like her RL self, the question for me now becomes - do I have a RL "twin?"

Are you talking African-American skin or dark tans? I see a lot of "dark" (meaning deeply tanned skins).

I've been told I'm too pale...go figure.

ETA: With some of my more ethnic outfits (I LOVE sari's, Pakistani outfits, etc.) I wear the Chola skin that Rha made and really like that look with those outfits.

A friend IMd me from the Hangout one day to tell me that there was a girl there that looked just like me - face and skin - but was a bit shorter and was dressed in stuff I would not be caught dead in. I was dressing at the time and quickly finished to pop over and see, but the girl TPd out just before I got there.

My shape was created by me, and is a teen size (which is unusual in SL), so it's not likely I would ever find a twin in SL.

However, I did once see someone in RL in a mall that looked almost exactly like my avatar - it was actually kinda creepy.

I've seen avvies that are similar to me - same hair an skin - but no twins: my shape is uniquely mine.

My shape is home-made, so while I often see the same skins and some of my fave hairstyles (especially the one that got ripped and made a freebie ), I have yet to encounter a "twin". That goes for my alts as well.

My homemade shape and skin are atypical and unique in SL, and every hair I wear is either made by me or HIGHLY edited and customized by me. Probably won't be meeting my twin anytime soon... which is good too, because I'd have to kill her if I did

For my Human forms, Ceera Murakami and Ceera Kitsune are identical twins, but both belong to me. Ceera Magic and Ceera Ninetails are identical except for the hair, because by the time they were created, my favorite hairstyle was no longer available. But again, they are all me.

I haven't yet run into anyone in SL who was not my own alt, and who had selected the exact same appearance slider settings that I have, let alone the same skin and eyes and hair.

It's somewhat more common for one of my furry forms to look a lot like someone else. Most people will wear a furry avatar as-is, and don't modify the shape or prims that much. But for myself, I do tend to change the hair and even mod prims in the facial structure, and my body shape remains the same from the neck down as my Human versions, so it's fairly unlikely to run into an accidental twin of myself.

Three friends of mine surprised me one day by all trying to look like me - so there was variety (and hilarity) in the four Ospreys.

Not yet. There's nothing unique about mine, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

But I have been told by others they saw my "twin".

I did see my ex-fiancee's twin and instantly wanted to take him home. Not marry him, just do all the naughty things my ex-fiancee and I used to do. Hehehe

I met someone that looked like the rl me in SL.. that was weird.

My first name (rl) there are a few avatars using it, just a variation of tarina.. anyway when I am at a place and people greet that name I always have to stop myself from responding LOL

A friend called me to show something. I accepted the TP to find a tomb, with my pic on it. Later, I met with the owner of the tomb.. we both using the same hair, the same skin, and with shapes much alike. That give us good laughs, and I have a pic to prove

I would be happy to meet my avatar twin(s)! A long-lost littermate would be nice to find!

I can't even make my alts look like me so i doubt very much there is an Amaranthim look alike running about- It's not just the hair or skin - it's the shape too. My skin was a limited edition so I doubt that is too strong a possibility. Combined with someone finding the same shape, tweaking it just like i tweaked mine and the hair - it is doubtful. I was carefully looking at me in a half unicorn half girl avi the other day, and although the skin was the same, I did not look like me, not really- because i could not wear my normal shape and retain my unicorn shape at the same time. So it is all a combination.

Bf changed his shape and skin the other day- although logically I knew he was the same man I have known for an entire year- he was not the same visually and it was somewhat distracting. But he likes to indulge me so went back to his old skin

Part of me acknowledges that this is shallow- but I look at my alts and though I realize i am the same person, only Amaranthim looks like "me" - funny thing is, when i am in my alts i am still just as me - I just keep thinking i look a little off. ( And since I really am not a 7 ft tall 20-something year old platinum blonde I don't what the heck I get so hung up on! )

Even though I currently use a popular anthro Dragon avatar, I customize it in many ways, both visually and functionally, so, unless someone went WAY out of their way to copy my form, it would be unlikely that I would ever see my "twin".

Even still, I would take it as a compliment.

I do not recall seeing anyone who looks like me... however as my quote states from morpheus linden... I change my avi so much I do not even look like me...

My shapes are my own work. My skins are my own edits of Eloh's templates. It's not likely that I'll ever find my twin on the grid. =^-^=
