I'm just wondering.... why is it that bdsm in SL is always seen as Gorean? I've only seen talk of Gor in the forums at least, when its quite untrue that its the only D/s relationship shown in SL....

Well, tell them to bring it on. But they should be seriously concerned. I've been practicing with my plywood prim box of doom and horror and I am deadly at distances as great as 2 meters. If they hide in the woods, I set it on fire before I throw it - It's like poor man's napalm. There's no escape.

Well, latex doesn't have the baggage of RL oppression tied to it, and there's a lot fewer of them and they don't tend to be so visible. The latex thing is also theoretically unisex so it's not hitting any sexism buttons, despite whatever gender roles individuals add to their roleplay.





The gossip has it that one or more of the early Gor sim-owners didn't like Furries, so banned them because there's an excuse that they don't fit the books. Unlike Panthers wandering cities, teleportation, medieval builds, slaves speaking in third person, slave silks as worn in SL, the sheer number of female slaves, combat-meters, etc. This is also why Furries aren't allowed while wearing the Observer tags that denote your avatar as "invisible" to people who are RPing. They'll apparently also launch the ban-hammer at Priest King avatars, even though those things are about as Gorean as rampant sexism.

Basically it's just anti-Fur prejudice, but it's okay under the TOS because Furries aren't anything RL. (My own bias is that I've never been yelled at by a Furry for going Human in their sims.)

I've never seen one, but apparently. I expect there's not a great market for them when Gor sims ban them and no one else has heard of them.

Pretty much. Also have heard, on 'my side', about goreans grouping up and attacking furry sims, but haven't seen it actually happen, so could just be some anti-gorean FUD.


And you're right, you probably WON'T be yelled at for being human in a furry sim. There may be one exception, but I wouldn't worry too much about finding out. After all, we DO kinda need a place to 'get away' at times.

Most of the time, we're a laid-back bunch... just don't do anything to really piss us off, and we're easy to get along with.
