Explicit Adult Chat on Mainland? & Other Worries Re: Lax Adult Content Restrictions

Have you ever had to give a speech in front of a lot of people or have been in a play on stage and had terrible stage fright? And had someone tell you to imagine everyone in the audience is naked...thinking that will help you not be nervous?

That is how I look at some of the posts in forums. (NOT imagine them naked lol See the sad thing is most bigots don't even realize that is what they are. They either had it instilled into them from birth from their own upbringing and/or have never learned to open their minds. This is a sad thing and when I read mean, hurtful, spiteful and just plain stupidity on any forum...I imagine a poor lonely/angry/sad soul sitting behind their keyboard. I'm sure not all are that way at all...but it makes it easy for me to just ignore or not even read posts like that. It's not worth the time it takes to get upset.

I associate with cancer surviviors, people suffering with cancer, those who have loved ones (husbands, wives, partners, children, & friends) suffering, dying or dealing with cancer everyday of their lives. Cancer has no bigotry or prejudices... it doesn't care where you come from, what language you speak or what color your skin is. These people, with their strength, faith, hope, sadness and despair... make me look at life differently.

There are too many wonderful people in this world to listen to or read about and/or admire and remember. Don't let those poor, sad souls get you down. It really is not worth getting upset about... compared to life itself.

You have NO NEED to apologize. I jump in to these things. You do the same. In a way I think some of us have to. SL isnt designed for bigotry and its not right people should express hate or prejudice. Forums should be for debate and knowledge but not opportunities for anger and malice.

Hi Jig. Some forum threads are indeed devoted to debate and knowledge. This wasn't one of those.

I agree with your position on how we really don't know one another here. I don't know you; you don't know me. I do, however, know Chris.

It is true that he can, at times, seem somewhat abrasive on these forums. He often has opinions that are not popular. He (like someone said about you) can be goaded into strong reactions easily, and some take pleasure into baiting him for this reason.

In reality Chris is a very sensitive and supportive man. He is one of three people that I have met in this strange little multiverse that I have been comfortable sharing my real life experiences with.

Two years ago this summer, Chris helped me with some really difficult times that I was going through in real life. It is in a large part due to him that I made some serious life changes that have resulted in helping me to view the world as a place I still want to be in.

He is such a classical style of gentleman, that I'm sure that your response to my post provoked him to come to my defense (as he always has). I am surprised that he didn't demand pistols at dawn.

So, I've had my say. I only checked back in because I will always have Chris's back, no matter what he lets people drag him into.

In brief reply, "Chris" made an assumption about me that was very wrong. I am very glad he helped you in your life. I am sure he is a decent man to his friends. He and I however obviously rub each other the wrong way.
I wouldnt know what to do with a pistol at dawn. I havent seen one of those since I was 12 (the dawn, that is). I am not certain what a "classical style of gentleman" happens to be. That may make an interesting thread. Maybe its just a generation thing. Who knows?
