One thread deleted, two locked and all due to an alleged land scam against someone who has many alleged land scams?

LL need to stop taking the ostrich approach to these scams.

Can someone please enlighten me as to the nature of the scam complained about, without naming names?

Is the the problem with selling estate land, then for unknown reasons yanking it out from under the buyer?
.

It seems to work in a similar way to the DMCA, where one can have a thread removed by complaining about it without the actual contents of the thread being reviewed.

However, unlike the DMCA, there seems to be no method of counter-filing and having the thread replaced.

When one's moderation policy is actually _worse_ and _less complete_ than a hastily-written corporate-sponsored measure enacted by the government, one really has to look at said policy rather closely.

Welcome to our new moderator, Millie T.

Any plans to actually introduce yourself? Are you going to go by the forum rules or just delete threads entirely and lock any thread that leads to complaints in your email inbox?

Any comment on the thread that was deleted? We would not have started new threads, but the discussion wasn't just "closed", it was ended by default when the thread on the topic was deleted.

Thread closed on account of multiple complaints, account bashing, and reposting a closed discussion.

Methinks the smell of fear is getting stronger.

I think closing, locking, deleted a thread based soley on comkplaints about the thread is a bogus excuse. Of course if i dotn like a topic I can just have it shut down and essencially I win!

This is a enablers role that Forum moderators take too often that relfects badly on the host companies views, by taking out a thread that deals with scams and warning other residents about scams, the forum moderator gives the virtual go-ahead to the scammers to continue busines as usual, and also inadvertantly speaks for the host company on a situation.

Millie before you lock out threads, you need to do a ethics check on yourself and base your determination to delete a thread on that value of ethics you carry yourself, if you are responsible for maintaining order on the forums, then you are sitting in a virtual judges position. make decisions that are justifiable by all and not as a means to protect the accused

Thank you and welcome

A possible case of being a little 'power-mad'?! ...in which case an explanation may be a while in coming.

To the person doing the multiple ARs and emails to the moderator.

Why don't you post something constructive to support your arguments instead of just being a spineless wimp?

Well I say a welcome to Millie too, and it would be nice to introduce yourself of course. Deleting threads isn't an action I find very wise, but on the other hand a new moderator is entitled to an error here and there :-) Wishing you all wisdom, and handing you a brick wall (you will need that to hide behind once in a while ;) )

Greetings, Marcel

Why should they? They are getting what they want via the stealth approach. We begged for a Moderator, and our wish was granted. Next time, be careful what we wish for.

You have to wonder why the obession to have moderators on these forums. Anyone whose been frequenting these forums know they only lock whats convenient to them. Any thread licking their boots would always remained opened.

At the rate threads are getting locked and deleted, I may never get there...

So does today's fun finally dispel the rumor that I'm actually Strife?

Moderators answers would just entail lots and lots of the same copied and pasted posts!

CORRECTION! You guys begged for a moderator. Those who felt they needed their hands held begged, pleaded, asked, demanded one. Those who felt they weren't strong enough to handle discussions and didn't want to hurt their eyes reading debates and argumentative material.

YOU GUYS BEGGED FOR THIS! If this is how weak some of you are how the hell you've gotten thru' in life this far? You know who you are and others here know who you are too. The same little group who would brown nose the last mod couldn't just leave it alone this time. Now, you can go back to doing it all over again. I know you're filled with ecstasy now.

You're complaning and making an issue about locked threads already? You, who led the small pack of "we need a mod."

Unbelievable.
