what I meant by "guess" was that based on what I know and believe to be the truth, that was what was most likely correct. But I was talking about what I think would be the best way to proceed, and not what other people think...I'm confused about what made you think I was trying to make people believe anyone said anything they didn't...


ps:I'm not from the US, but probably much of my english was learned from US english speakers (I think I learned it mostly from movies and TV, plus some computer books and the internet)

I don't mind returning to the main topic, besides haptic feedback, having additional senses would be interesting too, like having a third eye starting at the minimap (perhaps somthing done with those eletric "screens" I saw on tv a while back, that would produce small electric shocks instead of dots of light for pixels, and would be placed ont he tongue or the forehead or somthing, and people seems to be able to learn to "see" thru that), or some indirect sense like morse-coded vibrations of the chair translated from the chat history

I always thought it would be nice when I am in mood to have some special penis
powers that would automatically sense best places to find fun that I would like instead of some laggy, annoying, boring or overpriced Sex place that fill up the mature advertisement section in the in world search by the thousands but seem too tedious to go through each everyone because die of boredom and I end up losing the desire to continue after visiting three or four of them. LOL

Yes I always wish we actually got "dripping wet" realistically but have always wished I could paint inside of Second life too on prims.
I have never seen a truly wet suit or wet hair in SL.
If we could have senses in SL I would want it to be more realistic sensory in things like actual activities i.e painting, interacting with things like water,etc.
I couldn't remember if Sade's book was 101 or more. Brain lag sense hit me. LOL

(edit) I have heard of book and I have meant to read this book for years but I started to read it today but truthfully I got only to page 35 I had to quit it's just too disturbing.

But more on-topic: if the technology of virtual worlds like SL advances to the sci-fi movie levels of full sensory emersion----I'd be just as glad to let the s/m people have their own space; I won't be competing for server time there.

It isn't always exactly about that, it more about consensual exchange of endorphins, sensation, sensory excitement one might find like in parachute jumping but in more personal intimate way.
What I read in book that disturb me the most was Marquise De Sade's fixation on very vile personalities in his heroes who had no conscious or empathy in others except for what they could take from them, and had no problem stealing, kidnapping, murdering, raping, buying and using human beings, especially children.
Yet I also figured he was also imprisoned for most of his life even though he wrote those things but he must have done some.
I think in some ways he was also in his own unique ways was saying individuals with certain amount of money, highest class of nobles and those with power could use their fellow human beings in any fashion they desire without consequences.
Most into modern BDSM do not use others in similar fashion unless they are
given special CIA or Governmental clearance to do whatever they must to torture out confessions for President Bush or other high ranking individuals.
Yet there is some degree of sensory excitement in being able to experience things one would never do outside of the dark shadowy regions of one's imagination.
This is probably the same reason some people are attracted to high risk sports, violent video games, drugs, alcohol, loss of control, total control, intense romantic adventures, magical fantasy tales where no limits of regular daily lives exist, intense sensory appearances, dark or intense sexual role play games, scary theme parks, haunted houses, horror movies and wild anonymous sex with little to no consequences is so appealing to some.
Important sense would be the ability to have adventures, excitement and step out of one's norm for many people if we could create any type of experience in a virtual world even if required that the virtual world existed where no censorship, no limits and morals existed.
Yet the reality of having a virtual world that was all about stepping out of one's norm without consequences we all know that part of grid wouldn't last long for numerous reasons even in role play sense.
Reality of the shadowy imagination filled places on the internet often give me personally a sense of feeling virtually covered with slime then excited and challenged.
It is difficult to produce those type of experiences without high degree of the yuck factor in our current technology in my opinion.
Yet if it was possible to produce a world where one could experience different adventures with real sensations it would make billions of dollars and attract billions of adventure seeking addicts because everyone at some point in their lives needs adventure and sense of mind blowing sensory overload now and then.
