I know this one guy who actually called them Mommies........I had to have him repeat that a couple times and tell me what the hell he was referring to. That was kind of a turn off........sure "boobies" sounds childish and kind of is, but some guys use it to be cute and some women think it is, not all but some. "Boob" you more often hear being used in situations such as " And my boob popped right out of dress in front of everyone at the party and I didn't even notice it until 30 mins later........geez I was wondering why everyone was staring?" Ok....a bit of an exaggeration.........or as two of my friends reference in consideration of breast feeding their children " The kid wants the boob..." or " it's boob time for the child..." but teat? Come on now, what woman wants to consider that her child suckles from her teat? Let's get real here, it is just a word and in certain circumstances it works for some people. As Ricardo's attempt to show us in his erotica writing, substituting the word "boob" isn't much of a turn on, but everytime a womans breast is mentioned, it is not always with the intention to turn on a man!

I don't automatically make generalizations about SPECIFIC people, although I do hold an opinion in reserve, based on past experience. In this case, past experience tells me that many of the people who use "boobs" are either bimbo types themselves, or trying to appear to be a bimbo, or are guys who like that busty, brainless type of woman.

No, obviously "boobs" isn't my favorite slang term. But you're right, it's "no big whoop". As I said, I like the richness of the english language, including its slang.
