I'm constantly amazed at the number of people who see a bunch of green dots, come strolling in and say "Hey! What's going on?"

Natural curiosity. A lot of people dont know/think/realise that RL stuff happens here as well.

If I had to organise such an event I would put up a notice to the effect of "RL event in progress please do not disturb."

I've seen the flexi-boobs and I still find them highly surprising. :p

Boobs. Where was this word dug out from? I'd like to know who made this word up just to smack them. It sounds so not right calling them boobs. If I was to go back to an old phrase it would be so square calling them boobs. It sounds like a part from a machine or something even weirder.

Call it what they are, breasts or tits. Since when did these two words become wrong or bad words to use to describe them?

Boobs, pfft.

Door locks are polite hints and polite people take the hints, so the locks are useful. For impolite people, other measures are often necessary...
Having a hud that detects avatars is very useful too. In fact, it's essential. It keeps one from being sneaked up on.

Totally agree, I call them breasts. I never got that one either.

Wordorigins.org suggests a possible origin. Here's the link:

Gotta love Google.

Not everybody likes to use the same words, does that make them childish or prude because someone doesn't like the term "tits"? I believe the term "boobs" is calling them what they are........does Boobs mean something else? I'm not flaming here, but really, what is so wrong with people using terms that they want to use and why do you assume that those people who use one term instead of another think that the term is wrong?

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Well, they do come in pairs, usually.

In SecondLife, if you are physically able to access a place then you must be allowed there.

Word 'boobs' sound like something retarded and breasts/ tits on a female especially a curvy one is very far from it.

So when they say, 'stop acting like a boob,' do they mean stop acting like tits?

I don't have a problem with the word Boob, nor do I feel the need to tell someone to use another word because I don't like the way the word sounds............You think it sounds retarded, that's fine, you can call the girls whatever you choose, no problem, but not everyone shares your views and that's ok as well!

No - camera controls let them just pan inside. Blinds are like locks. They are a polite hint to polite people. They have no effect on rude people.

Polite people? And they have these in sl? Maybe in shops, are they sold? Is it something new? And since when?

Luckily, in Second Life, you can't actually "physically" access any place. You aren't there physically. You are there virtually and mentally. Physically, you are sitting in front of your computer in your underwear munching on day old pizza and wondering why you just got ejected from a bachelorette party you weren't invited to and refused to leave. (I of course am speaking about the universal "you", not Conan, who wasn't the guilty party the OP was referring to)

See how well that works out? In RL, the same doesn't ring true. I've been able to physically access a few places where I was allowed to remain until security showed up, at which time I was no longer able to physically access that place anymore. The lesson in RL is more painful than it is in SL. Bruised ribs are decidedly uncool.

I'm polite enough not to cam into places where I'm not welcome, or try to enter land when the owner makes it clear I'm not wanted. I don't wander into people's private residences, even if the doors are unlocked and I certainly don't try their poseballs without invitation.

Actually most people in SL are polite and friendly. The ones that aren't can be abominable, though. Really, really unbelievably horrid. They stand out and make us forget the really wonderful people we've met. My own theory is that for every one really rude person we deal with, we need about 5 really wonderful ones to block the bad experience out. I have no science to back that up, but that seems to be the magic number for me.

/laughs

I didn't say others should not call them boobs or that it's wrong. Well, actually it sounds ridiculous but to each it's own. I said the word itself sounds ridiculous as it sounds retarded or/ and sounds like a machine part. Not very sexy me thinks.

Just as well, many don't call them boobs either. Not where I come from. Not from the younger set either. The older generations call them boobs. Don't think I've heard an explicit song calling them boobs when describing a woman either.

And I call girls, females or women. The finer ones I call something else but that's in privacy when we're together.

Quoting myself...
02-12-2008 13:41
From: Solanghe Sarlo
This is a newbish question - please forgive...

How does one eject/ban? Also freeze/AR?

I have in the past had random people walk into my house and refuse to leave, but couldn't figure out how to eject them - guess I have been missing it on the tool bar or whatever.

Also, I know how to AR, but I've heard you guys speak of "freezing"? What is that and how does it apply?

Thanks :)

Ok, I'm quoting myself cause no one is answering my question! I believe it's a legit question and I really want to know. Dang, can somebody at least refer me to a thread or sumthin?

*pouting and sulking cause I'm being ignored*
