I think the reason this thread topic keeps coming up over and over is the OPs have agendas.

In this case her friend is hurt and likly the OP agrees its cheating, and wants to support her friend since shes very likely upset.

In other cases people have started or just ended a Online Relationship and are married IRL, and want some sort of aknowledgement that what they did isnt so bad, or at least not so unusual.

I do think "cheating" is the right word to use, simply because you are "cheating" your RL partner by lying or concealing from them. You are cheating them of honesty and RESPECT. But, that's only my opinion, and what would apply in my relationship. To my husband and I...heck, yes, it's cheating and would likely lead to the demise, or at least a serious wounding, of our relationship. Trust, once broken, is never ever easily regained and shouldn't be. But to someone else, in their relationship, it's fine because it's an agreement some couples have come to. I voted "yes", but that's not because I judge everyone who does it as cheating. I voted "yes", because if I did it, or my husband did it, the other would be deeply hurt and irretrievably affected. But, cyber sex and voice sex is NOT the same as looking at Playboy or watching porn. I have no problem if my husband looks at glossy air-brushed pictures of surgically enhanced women. But if he's speaking intimately with a woman other than me, oooohhh, watch out! Sunni would become stormy pretty darn quickly! But, then, I never claimed not to have a jealous bone.
