The easy way to remember "its" is to remind yourself that "he" doesn't become "he's" and "she" doesn't become "she's" and "they" doesn't become "they's" and "I" doesn't become "I's" and "we" doesn't become "we's", and "you" doesn't become "you's" (not even in New York, "youse" is the plural, not the possessive). Fair enough. (Maybe you should publish a cartoon with that info...it couldn't hurt!) |

One thing I wondered from the beginning... do you know how the Bloodlines thing works, Desmond? You know that you only get bitten ONCE, and then your name goes in a database so you're not bitten a second time.
And it doesn't make you a vampire.

Well! I have just had... I suppose one could call it one of the most *unusual* evenings on the grid I'd ever had, last night. There were several people hunting me, and many on the Caledon group channel were wondering when I'd be bit, and tried to find me too so they could see it. Trouble was that I teleport around a lot during the course of regular business, or if I am getting 10 IM's at once I generally hover at ridiculously high altitudes until they sort of stop coming in. And there were IM's, all right! Wow. I never really realised how... I hesitate to use the word important, but, it seems like some people take this stuff pretty seriously. - several people tried to talk me out of all this, simply recant the offer, "consider what I was doing" and "the bite will be forever" - one enterprising person said I should change it slightly, and 'auction' the bite to a highest bidder - I got a few IM's that, well... if IM's came in envelopes, they would have smelled like Chanel # 5 - I was given a huge number of garlic necklaces, gothy vampire outfits and something called sunshine in a can. Sunshine in a can??? I felt really bad that people were spending money on this!!! - group chat kinda went crazy and came up with "Desferatu" and "Desmond Fang" and... worse  - some wanted to werewolf bite me instead. uh, sure? apparently that's a different thing... but none of the were-canines found me So what really happened? Well... a number of people decided to joke around, and 'bit' me with sandworm or alligator avatars. Ow! At one point, I was cornered by a rather methodic young gal who searched thoroughly and found me... but she didn't have the money to buy the vampire fangs or something. I didn't realise it cost money! So there she was, but couldn't bite me! I wasn't about to pay for my own biting, either. So I got away. A great number of people *did* manage to find me, and as desperate as they were to see me bitten, they were even more desperate not to join the game themselves. Such anguish! If you drew a Venn diagram, the circle marked 'Caledon residents' really doesn't overlap the circle marked 'Bloodlines players' much. If at all. * * * * * Bottom line, nobody has bitten me yet. I suppose that status will change pretty rapidly, but it's true. From all the chatter about this (and it was a lot, last night) two phrases stood out: "sexual metaphor" and "comedy gold" As of today, Caledon is three years old on the grid. So someone is *bound* to find me at the celebrations. If anyone cares to know what happens, let me know

Well, it happened.
During Caledon's 3rd year celebrations last night, I was bitten. I thought it was a dance invite or something, to be honest ~ I was a bit distracted.
But... nope! In a crowd of 50 people, bam, I was bit! So I guess it's all over.
Am I going to become a vampire? Maybe it's just like the movies, not a lot of explanation for the victim!
I promise not to bite anyone.
Don't know how anyway, really...
