Who wants to bite?

All this talk of vampire bites... everyone either playing the vampire game, or strongly disliking it, or... being *involved* in some way...

...but nobody in the entire history of the game has bit Desmond.

Or even offered! I'm starting to feel a little left out!

So, vampires, if you want to bite me, go right ahead. My IM's and invites and stuff pretty much cap instantly, so you'll prolly have to hunt for me in Caledon when I'm online (I'm not that hard to find, just ask around).

I wouldn't be one to show up to clan meetings or anything. Careful though, while I wouldn't bother to go after new folk whatsoever, there might be a few of your own I'd gleefully snack upon. Unless someone *wanted* to be bitten, of course, I might consider it.

How different could it be from land barony, anyway?

Thou shall not fall,

I would love to bite you, Desmond. I would hope some of your wisdom and compassion would rub off on me. *grins*

On a related note, I never was offered a bite in more than a year on SL, until I went to Bloodlines merely looking for fangs. I never intended to become a vampire. But some vamps are quite......alluring. ;-)

I recommend my Great Great Great Great Uncle Ethen. He is Bloodlines free but by tradition he will require an invitation into your home.

Be warned, however, he may be a silver-tongued old fox, but he has extremely anti-social tendencies. He contracted more than a dose of of syphilis from the bite an Irish whore gave him in Boston a couple of centuries back and he's been taking it out on innocent folk ever since.

Otherwise read on if you're entertaining fantasies of being drained by a lascivious nubile.

A four foot tall ferret's got teeth longer than most vampires', I guess that puts them off.

Oh sure. It starts with an innocent, "who wants to bite me" and before you know it, you're shirking your duty to the unwed mother and her offspring.

You may well be lascivious and, dare I say, hideously well-endowed, but I very much doubt your nubility.

Nope, that'd be bigamy.

I've never had so much as a bite request either... the closest I came was some barbie-looking vampire (outside in the Sunlight no less!) asked if it was ok to bite people on my estate. I told her that I personally didn't have an opinion either way, but also let her know that the area has damage enabled and only residents have rez-rights, so if she found someone who didn't appreciate the request, she might meet an armed response.

She left, soon after.

(Have since learned that my residents do not like vampires so, no, it's not ok to come give bite requests. Armed response and all that.)

Cheers!

Damn it's skin! Who will rid me of these pedants!!

Do you suppose that vampires care one fig for issues of monogamy, bigamy, polygamy or any form of exogamy, my fine ferrety fellow?

Why would a vampire care about armed response? You can't kill 'em for good, either in character or in SL.

So I guess they just don't like being bitten back by super-sized mustelids.

I think someone bit me once, I thought they just wanted a hug. I learned my lesson and anyone who tries to bite me gets ignored!

Are you perhaps confusing a fine old tradition of roleplay with that Bloodlines bullshit everyone complains about?

I think that's a different HUD, I believe it's called "Dark Gift". It's basically a hug HUD with a bite animation. No database, game points, nothing, just a role-playing aid.

I don't really know... I guess it would be inconvenient though, to find every bite request ends with BLAMMO! and they're back to their home location, wherever that might be.

Not that I actually *get* any of it anyways, I mean if she was really trying to be a vampire, she shouldn't have been out and about in the hot tropical sun! One would think they'd limit their online time to the 1-hour periods of darkness (or find themselves some sims where the 'day' is permanently locked to night mode.)

As I noted elsewhere, Bloodlines isn't a role-playing game, it's just a game. It's possible to role-play using it as an aid, but Bloodlines doesn't require nor reward role-play.

Well, I never figured Desmond for a vamp slut. I like my victims to put up a bit more of a struggle than this. Still as you are offering, if you could just fill these jars up and send them along it would be appreciated :) VV

You should do some more reading, not all vampires need to fear the sun, that goes for history, mythos and popular fiction btw.

Quite a bit more connotation about this than I had realised, for some... those were some... interesting replies, I guess!

Meh, whatever. First person to find me inworld can bite. It might have to be kind of a quickie* bite, because generally I am teleporting all over the place taking care of business like crazy.

*no naughty connotation implied

The most effective weapon against bitemes, and anyone else really, lurking on land that you have rez rights on that they dont, is to use the ancient weapon that has stood the test of time against all who would have their way with you.

Put a plywood box on their head.

The most noble practitioners of this ancient art ask permission first. Dialog says "me wan put plywood box on ur head nd take ur pix. is kk wif u pls ??? o miiteh one =p =)"
