Someone Spreading Nasty Rumours About Me Inworld, What Do I do?

It always fills me with joy to see there are intelligent & caring people alive & well in SL today ^^^^

To the OP; you have every right to your RL info staying in RL & not only did that !!!!! disclose first life info on you which is against CS, she sounds jealous as hell that you might be talking to/showing interest in (Whatever) someone other than her (Thinking how you said you turned her down?)

Bottom line is she's a nasty b**** who's just out to cause bs & anyone with even half a dying braincell will see her for what she is & honestly, they won't give a **** about your gender cause it really doesn't matter to others, most people go by someones character not gender. I hope you're feeling better now, I understand how it can feel for personal info to be made public by someone trusted to not do so.

If you didn't know before this girls true self, you definitely do now & can mute her & continue to socialise with those who care about you for *you* whether male/female/tg etc & I think you'll find there's alot more who really will love ya for being you & see her behaviour & not even bother to talk to her, she's the loser in more ways than one

Put her on ignore, AR if it will help you feel better and just ask your friends to consider the source when it comes to what she or anyone else says. I have learned to take things at face value. If you look like a woman and act like a woman you are a woman to me. The converse is also true, but that feeling has put me on a ban list for at least one bull dyke. F@@@ her. If she wants to act like a man she needs to .(drum roll). act like a man and get over it. But I digress.

I'm TG too. I started by coming out to just a few close friends in world. I even broke off an engagement with a wonderful guy because I felt so dishonest about not telling him. Now, just about all of my friends know and I don't think I am treated any differently.

There will ALWAYS be a few idiots but we can deal with them. After all, they ARE idiots and have plenty to deal with, thereselves.

If you need a friend in world, I will be happy to meet you.

You can AR it, since it violates the Terms of Service.

Linden Labs does not respond to lone ARs. It helps if your friend who received the IM ARs it too. Everyone who has received an IM from the TOS violated should AR it, for best results.

However, keep in mind that even if Linden Labs acts upon the ARs, it really doesn't protect you from that sort of behavior. Ban one avatar, and the same person can just make another. Some people just enjoy making other people miserable, and on the anonymous internet, it's easy to do with impunity.

About the best things you can do to protect yourself is to frequent establishments at which the owners protect you from griefers, and try not to give grifers a response. Paying attention to them encourages them. Ignore them, and they tend to move on to more interesting (for them) targets.

I am a lot calmer now, and gladdened, that the vast majority or you are seeing this for what it is.
The problem that I had when this person did what she did, was that the action, is my single biggest fear in RL. I am terrified of someone that knows me, revealing my birth gender. THAT is why I was so upset.
Yes I'm a tg. Yes I am open about it, in Second Life.
I treat my Second Life, and act, the way I do in the real world. That's the way it is for me.
But not everyone I know in the real world is aware of my birth gender. And when this ahem, girl, blurted it out to the person I was sitting with, all I could see was my RL being disclosed. It's an absolute terror for me.
Irrationable, yes. Silly, maybe. But it is MY life, both of them.
I thankyou all, well, mostly all, again for your incredibly kind words of support. I wish I could hug you all. Even the one or two that have maybe not put such kind comments.
My faith has been restored. And, yes, I have muted her. And yes, I know the ones that care will not listen to viciousness in any form.

While I disapprove of outing people's personal details, one can hardly call it "spreading nasty rumours" when someone says something about you that is true. You are male, this is a fact.

Also, since you were at a club called "Shemale Sanctuary" and had, I assume, an apparently female looking avatar, then it should also be pretty obvious to anyone around you that you are probably male in real life - so this person saying that you are is hardly revealing something that is secret.

My suggestion is that you stop being such a big emo about it and move on with your life.

What's the deal with these forums lately? Everyone is coming out or what? It's forums for sl, not True Life Confessions or Exposed Magazine. True we deal with other matters not of sl but this is your personal life so keep it as such.

It's no ones business but your own and I'm saying this in GENERAL. Save your public display, keep it where it belongs, in private. You put it out there then you don't like it when something happens. Who's fault is this?

For once, I agree with Colette. I don't see the problem at all. There was a bit of a flurry at the time it happened, and the OP said that he is concerned that it will continue, but he *didn't* say that it is continuing. The OP also said in a later post, that he is open about his real gender in SL, so what's the problem? To be honest, I don't even see why there was a flurry of drama at the time, since the OP says that he is is open about his real gender in SL.

I wonder what the conversation with the really nice guy was about - romance? If it was, I wonder if finding out that the OP is male scuppered it. *IF* that was the case, then the revelation was a good thing. I don't think that many straight men would be happy being romantic with another man when they think it's a girl at the keyboard - not even in a virtual world.

And what are the "nasty rumours" in the title of this thread? That the OP is a man? That doesn't qualify as a nasty rumour - it's a fact, and the OP says he's open about it in SL. That the OP is a good lover? Hardly nasty.
