Someone Spreading Nasty Rumours About Me Inworld, What Do I do?

I was sitting in a club talking to a very nice guy, and this girl(?) IM'd this guy, warning him of me and saying that I was a man. Technically true, I'm transgender. But have always considered myself a girl. About ten years ago, I began living my life as such, 24/7.
I was absolutely furious and leapt up and confronted this person, Lenan ********.
I called security over, and they had her ejected from the club.The club that we were in, the 'Shemale(hate that word) Sanctuary', was quite full at the time.
I left SL because I was in tears that someone could do this to me. I have never been so angry or embarassed in all the time I have been in Second Life. I truly love it here, and the day before, celebrated my first birthday.
When I came back in to tell my (SL)husband what had happened, I saw him online and came into talk to him, I had about a dozen requests for friendship from this nasty person. Also she was IMing about what a great lover I was. I turned her advances down months ago, I really am not the type of girl to go in for casual sex, all my friends will back this up.
The absolute dread I have now is that she will continue to spread vicious and nasty rumours about me inworld. Because I move in the tg world, as does she, but I suspect that she really is a guy, this could ruin my absolute spotless reputation as a fair minded and decent person.
Please help, I am in pieces here, and don't know what to do.
It's my greatest fear of being 'outed'(as being born male), in the Real World, and this has just brought all that terror back into my life.

It will all look much better in the morning. Ignore this person, put them on mute. Just continue being who you are and you'll know who your true friends are soon enough and that's better yes, rather than going around with others who might not respect who you are.

AR them. There is a rule in the TOS about outting a person's real life details.

Sorry this is happening to you. Put the person on ignore too, you don't need to hear from them anymore.

Also, you may edit your post and remove the person's name from it. That is against the TOS and will only get you in trouble that you don't need from the Lindens.

This is a long way beyond my experience, but I would offer up my experience: far from enabling people to hide their personalities, life online actually, to me, reveals a person's true nature and essence - good, bad, and the full range in between.

Confront your fear. Own it. Don't let your fear own you.

"there is nothing to fear but fear itself".

That person is an idiot, plane and simple. AR them.

Beyond that.....have faith that your decency and treatment of others will gain you the respect and affection you deserve for being who you are. None of us is perfect in everyone's eyes....and some folks, sadly, take too much pleasure in lowering others to boost themselves. It's pathetic.....but it happens....IRL and in SL. Mute the little nimrod and carry on with your SLife......you're not going to lose any true friends over someone's unfounded opinion of you......nor will it stop you from making new friends and continuing to make positive first impressions.

Abuse Report (AR) them by picking "Abuse Report" from the Help menu and specifying the details. I think there's even a "first life disclosure" option there, or at least there used to be.

Ask any of your friends who received these IMs to AR the person as well. Only people who were actually involved in the incident should file, but the more who file, the more likely something will be done about it.

Also, I believe putting the person on ignore will stop the friend requests.

the problem is people put too much value into a reputation here in sl and care too much what others think of them..
for most of my sl i had built a good reputation only to see everyone turn and believe someone that is a well known liar ..so after this i said to myself..who believes this person it is thier problem not mine..the sooner you kick drama in the ass and not care about the soap opera the sooner you become back in power of your sl..until then the little trolls in sl will always harm you.

I _really_ don't mean to sound insensative but I'm not sure I get it. You're in a place with the word "Shemale" in the name and somebody is telling people that your female avatar has a male behind the keyboard?

don't let it bother you. in a virtual world, reputation good or bad, is not important. its how you view yourself that is. unless this person has a real life hold on you, treat them like you would a child throwing a tantrum, then move on.

thats very true..if you notice those people will live a pattern of it in sl..always in some kind of fight or argument or always a new enemy..i used to manage over 250 dancers for a club in sl and it was just crazy with a few of them..lol

And also, develop some empathy and realize that problematic issues with virtual land ownership are in no way comparable to someone being attacked for who they are.

Just press on the person's name, and you get the option to put them on your ignore list at the top of their profile.
