What would be good is to have customisable viewer graphics with a choice of background and text colours. It's supposed to have that at some point, no hacking necessary. The colors, anyway... _____________________

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |

I just wonder if the fact that anything LL does is bound to upset somebody, when there's a real problem, like with the new RC viewer, it's a case of 'wolf!, wolf!'
I mean, even if they gave everyone a one-off L$5000 bonus, there'd be a thread on here complaining about it! _____________________

I dislike the bright interface, but eventually there will be a skinning system that will allow us to tone it down.
It's nice to be able to build up to 4096 M high. Too bad none of the TP systems I have can work that high... I have to ride a prim to get to my 3000 M high building platform. IM Logging won't disable. If you uncheck it and log off, it is back on when you log in again. And you can't point the log files anywhere else. It won't let you change the designated folder to place the log files in. _____________________
Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

Maybe if it were usable there wouldnt be a complaint. have you used it ? If not then maybe you shouldnt speak until you have. whats wrong with it? I use it, works fine for me, just distracts me slightly. Only problem I've found is that when I normally emote, I just hit the '/' key, without enter. With this viewer it reacts slower than I type, so I end up in mouseview and then my chat bar shows '/e start of emote' and I have to retype it and exit mouselook _____________________

Well I just went back to the orginal viewer I do not want IM logging and then NOT being able to find the file. You can turn it off. It's a checkbox in Preferences under Communication. Preferences is on the Edit menu. *bangs head on wall* _____________________

I dont know what the actual answer is.. I just know LLs response was at best...flaccid. That's a very good way to put it, and now I know why we still haven't seen the promised blog entry... ...the Lindens are still waiting for their shipment of Lie-agra to come in to firm up their flaccid reasoning. |

Afraid I am another who has not been able to run it long enough to get a real impression. Invariably crash after less than five minutes. However that is long enough to convince me that (a) the replacement of land with water outside the view distance is a complete disaster. The whole geographical sense of location is ruined. (b) incompletely loaded textures are nore rendered in reduced palette instead of the old unfocussed look. I find this intolerably harsh and unpleasant, especially as some of my textures seem to stay that way for ever (that is for as long as I have been able to stay ... five minutes!). I guess these are Windlight "enhancements" rather than the new interface, but either way, I cannot see myself continuing to use the Second Life (TM) virtual world after the old 19 version becomes unavailable. maybe someone can suggest settings etc. that would alleviate these problems and make me happy again? (given that I cannot afford a new machine).

If not, while it'd be a little bit of a nuisance, someone who liked the interface otherwise could uncheck it again at each login. _____________________

The interface colors lack needed contrast.
Everything gets washed together - blends together..... this, of course, makes things more difficult to read. Some poor soul probably worked hard on this, modding all the icons and settings to get this new color scheme - so I don't want to sound mean - but please, let us go back to the previous colors! |

If not then maybe you shouldnt speak until you have. !Also, I agree its somebody's hard work creating the new interface and so I don't want to totally dismiss the idea - but it needs more work to make it less bright and the drop down menus need to be reworked so they are actually readable on all computers. _____________________

Well, I hate the Dazzle features for all the reasons stated above, but the one thing that is going to drive me back to the official client is this weird flickering that I'm getting now inside buildings.
I don't know enough to determine if the textures are doing this or if prims are moving, or if its something that's affecting how my graphics card is viewing things. So far I've been inside my home, one of my shops, and two other shops owned by someone else and have gotten the same effects. I only know that it was NOT doing this before I had to update to the RC viewer 1.20. Other than that I haven't experienced any major problems, except one shop I went to I crashed and tried three times to relog to my last location and crashed each time. I finally relogged to my home location and TPed back to the shop and I was fine. _____________________
Trout Certification: "Definitely a slut, but not to the extent that it takes away from your obvious classiness and good taste. You are the type of girl that we know is out of our class, but who still makes us want to take a shot. I'm giving you a 7.7 on the Trout Sluttiness scale. Dirty and hot behind closed doors and just plain sexy everywhere else. Congratulations and shame on you."

I only know that it was NOT doing this before I had to update to the RC viewer 1.20. The current main viewer (1.19.1.4) is basically the same as the prior RC, so you don't actually have to use 1.20. _____________________

But am I the only one who notices a decline in graphics quality--even up-close? Literally 5 minutes before I updated to 1.2, I was looking at a linden cypress tree, admiring how good it looked for the first time (first time I noticed in 1.19 anyway).
Then in 1.20 they look like crap again and even AVs look slightly pixelated. Who knows, maybe dazzle is too much for my eyes and it's ruining what's going on in the frame for me. |

It probably reset your graphics preferences to the defaults. Check the detail settings. _____________________
