My 4 year old loves to sit and watch people dance. She loves all the "princess" dresses. She always picks the female in the dress she thinks is prettiest to be her. Am I a criminal?

Not for that, at least.

But that is the thing. I agree children should not be roaming the main grid (and for the most part anyone under 25 is a child). But sitting in my lap, under my supervision I will take my daughter where I want. She is MY child, not some governments. I don't need some damn law, social worker, or cop to protect her. I love her more than any of those people possibly could. I know what is best for her, not some "Child Protection Agency". I have mentioned before lines I have drawn in the sand, lines I will fight and die to protect, my daughter is one of them.

So, useful places, SLurls are welcome here?!

I suggested Hogwarts Roleplay area a few pages ago (before this topic got covered with spam) Another place I know is Club Aspen.

I think we already hit most of the most common places earlier. Now the thread has devolved a bit into other topics.

Anyway, I mentioned the SCN kiosks earlier. Here's a page with a video about them and a list (which I think he shoulda included URLs!) of kid avvie friendly places.

You didn't make an SL account for her, did you?

I expect you're also prepared to answer the question "Why is the lady in the diving suit wearing handcuffs?" and not coming on here trying to find someone to blame for it.

Letting a child peep at the SL screen in controlled situations by a highly responsible parent is different. Letting a child roam around SL is not responsible.

If it's in a setting where there will not be any "unpredictable" surprises, then it's no different than watching a cartoon I suppose.

Of course all little girls want the prettiest princess dress. We never grow out of it, either, if gown sales in SL are anything to go by. :)

Your delusional.

I hope you do realize that trolly little comments like this do not come across as positive ways of dealing with people. This sort of remark merely fans the flames.

OK, this is a little off topic, but I have a question for the child roleplayers out there: Is this the kind of "speech" that one would regularly run into in those circles, or what? Or is this example a particularly extreme one? Is the goal to try to play a child "accurately", or as a kind of caricature? (And no, I am not trolling, I'm genuinely curious.)

It's not uncommon to run across "ikklespeak" or baby-talk amongst some kid avvies. You'll find it at varying levels, though from more extreme "I'm sowwy I tawk wike dis!" is not really that common. Some will use some inflections in their speech (I use some now an then too, but usually jes things like dropped letters or stuff), while others don't change speech patterns at all.

Most who have been around kid spaces for a period of time do indeed try to be "accurate" as much as one can in this world, rather than being a caricature.

Neither do street rat crazy rantings like the ones that come from your fingers every time child avatars are mentioned.

It is, of course, entirely inappropriate to roleplay kids in the forums, and serves to irritate not "jes" those who would stay away from juvenile activities inworld. :(

Pep (It does mean "kids" can attempt to pretend that grammatical and spelling errors are "intentional" rather than incompetent, even those that claim to be prodigies. :p )

Does this deep seeded issue with child avies stem from having had an Adult restaurant located in a PG sim? Or are the neighborhood kids all at summer camp so there isn't anyone to yell keep off the grass at?

Of course, in the world of public forums, two wrongs make a right. And the group-thinkers feel they have the loudest voice.

If you all had ignored the uncontrollable urge to jump all over my small comment on page two - we would not be going back and fourth now. I just wanted to test the predictability of the mob. Continue.

Keep up Mel. Linden Lab gave me free roadside corner property in Zindra for my restaurant (moved a week ago). I gave 1500 meters of my PG land to a noob and kept 512M of it to erect an Adult Verification Infohub so folks can get to the restaurant. Thanks for your concern.
