for playing SL? I have tried to turn several people onto SL, but none have become the addict that I am. They all just make fun of me. Yes, many do. Many also did in 1995 when I had a silly little playground called "homepage" and taught myself silly useless things like HTML javascript and what not. Being a young woman especially, I was ridiculed. One day I met a guy online who was ridiculed for using stupid things like ICQ and was addicted to that. (He has a 5 digit number.) Now the silly stupid addictive things of the past make money for both of us. I am proud of being part of a virtual world and for being addicted to it. |

It's an oldie for sure. I remember doing it in a musical skit back High School. where the guy was Frankenstein singing to The Bride. wow! i bet that was great! we never did anything as remotely funny as that. nearest we got was a production of Grease, and I only got to be a background extra because I was the stage assistant/PA (yes, I was teachers pet, but I was hardly a goodie two shoes )As you can imagine, this caused even more of a dork rating. *cough* some of them weren´t even remotely naked either ......... as far as I know..... thats a relief. Ah, the things I could say about naked avatars, but then I would REALLY be pegged as a Dork...and admin would surely lock this thread... which I would hope they don't, because it still has a useful purpose, for us Dorks to learn all about Dorkiness!

The majority of the ones I rate aren't. And yes, I am a complete dork. I can't help it. The goofiness of SL appeals to me in a very deep and meaningful way. It's the absurdity of life that we all know is there but somehow manage to hide in RL, but it's all out there in the open in SL. Add to that the wonderful friendships I've made, and how can I not succumb to my inner dorkiness? _____________________

Remember the rating system goes from one to ten, but it's not a good or bad type of thing. A rating of 1 is just as good as a rating of 10 - it just puts you at a different point on the sluttiness scale. Sally is a beautiful person with a wonderful, cheery outlook on life. She makes the people around her happy just by being herself. She's not at all slutty - so she got a 4 on the scale, but that's not any indication of whether she's attractive or not. See how it works? _____________________

There's nothing wrong with being a nerd, dork, geek... whatever. I think it makes us all individual. I am probably the biggest klutz and most geekiest person in my whole group of friends, but because I am not bothered by it, i think they give me coolnosity points yey!I will quite often come out with oneliners which are hilarious to them then other times my attempts at humor just crash and burn. This is all part of who we are. SL is just another part of us. Yes it can be involving at times, but really, it is just another way of contacting friends and experiencing life. Anyway Im going to stop blathering on and go home, I only have three mins till i can leave and I seem to have some over with a case of deep thought.... i may need to lie down... _____________________
