Sarcasm, meanness and unhelping in Resident Answers!

I ignore politics and religion as much as I can its dangerous as a topic. Generaly this forum is helpful unless like me all the helpful people have kinda had a forced work break and can't login to sl much or lurk on forums like they usually do..

This forum seem to have turned into a one upmanship place instead of a true place to get answers. I request that the Lindens shut it down please.

If you don't want the forum, don't use it
There's plenty of answers here, people ask real questions and they get answers, people ask contoversial questions you get this, no one makes people read it and join in

I must have missed that part.

This thread is exemplary of unhelpfulness, because there was no help to be had, and none desired.

However, if you go to threads like "New here. A lot I need to know" or "uploading textures" or "What does MLP mean" or "What happened to all the dance clubs" or "friend can't get to forum" or the security orb design concept thread (not the bitching thread), the landscape is clear of all the negativity spoken of.

This isn't to say we can't have a measure of levity or thoughtful discussion, but really, people need to leave the divisive issues alone or go where other like minded folks are if you want to feel good about it. And some people take some stuff way too personally.

I say shut it down IMMEDIATELY.

Well put this way if you hate all the threads in the forums, instead of shutting them down and having nothing to complaign about, just leave.
I don't call for the Indian restraunt down the road to be closed just because I don't like Indian food.

I normally leave the fights to their own fate unless I'm one of the instigators in which case I try to defuse before deserting.

As for closing the forum, I don't need LL to close the forum if I didn't want to come here any more. I can turn off anytime.

I'm always nice on here and I'm always nice in-world! I try to be helpful although I do sometimes post silly replies. But they are always nice silly replies!

More the type of spice. I'm not big on Curry myself. I prefer spicy in the Cajun sense, or a good Italian Spicy Fra Diavlo.

Despite the fact that the forums are mainly helpful and fun, there are "broadly/narrowly/somewhat offensive" aspects to it. On the basis that it's imperfect, it should be shut down.
Continuing that logic, SL should be shut down also.
And come to think of it.......

OMG! The planet is shutting down!

I started counting the number of new threads started on the 31st with questions that were answered quickly. I stopped counting at 23 threads. In researching, the following are what I found to be true:

1. The question were almost always answered, usually on the 1st page
2. Further discussion and questions developed based on the original question or answers and therefore leaving into more knowledge given.
3. I came across many, many threads that were started prior to the 31st that were still having ongoing knowledgeable discussions.
4. Some threads that weren't specifically started as question threads but were more "discussion" threads still resulted in a great deal of information shared even though technically discussion threads aren't allowed.
5. With a great amount accomplished there was still plenty of foolish joking and good times. There were lots of arguments too. Some brutally so.

Based on my research I must disagree that this is not a place to get true answers. You can choose to focus on only the bickering that goes on but if thats the case then I suggest you leave. Don't suggest, however, based on your fallacious statement that the forums should be shut down for all of us.

Yeah, just cos you don't want to play any more, no need to break it for the rest of us. Whadja want to put in its place, a carstack?

This is the most horrible thing I've read in days. Woe is me if all the Indian restaurants in the world shut down coz Tegg doesn't like Indian food. *sniffle*

Seriously though, I have learned a LOT in this forum, and I continue to learn something new every few days. Sure there's gonna be infighting (/me smacks Ray) but it would be awfully dull without some fireworks now and then.

Careful though of course. Like a lot of Asian foods, some dishes are very spicy.

i don't even know where a themed restaurant like that exists? i am not in a city, or even near a city.
