I'm a grown man. I exercise, eat right, keep the alcohol under control, don't smoke. Why can't I walk by a bowl of Halloween candy without stuffing handfuls of those mini candy bars in my face!? Ummm...I think you answered your own question. I don't exercise...eat LOTS of cheese, red meat, fried chicken, etc., smoke a pack a day, and I can resist candy just fine. See what you get for "living healthy"? Yer jest denying your base, hedonist tendencies...and you end up snapping. You'll end up *snapping* at the Piggly Wiggly one of these days...mark my words...and the stockboys will have to take you down in the candy aisle, screaming and gibbering - and use the price tape gun to secure you until the cops arrive to tase you into submission. So. Here's a nice double spiced rum'n coke, an unfiltered Lucky Strike, and a nice crispy chicken leg. Enjoy. |

It's nasty, it's funny, it's bitchy, it's witty, and through it all it's helpful.
As others said, I can't think of a time that a serious question hasn't been answered, usually very quickly, before the thread gets derailed. My perception is that when the threads get nasty that it's usually by people who don't seem to understand the difference between a debate and an argument. Some people are too thin skinned and take things too personally, as if it's a personal attack just because someone disagrees with you. I'd feel pretty safe to say that I've seen it happen to almost everyone here, myself included, but some doing on a fairly consistent basis. I do think it's much more civil than most other forums I've seen out there and some are too hurt too easily by some of the bickering that goes on even when they're aren't involved directly. I promise from this point on that I will strive to be nicer. That is, of course, unless someone disagrees with my opinions. _____________________

I'll PM you, but it's going to be a GOOD one. lol - my female alt for the grand "is it really that awful being a woman in SL" experiment will weigh 650 pounds if she consumes Halloween candy at the rate that I am. i read these things constantly, and i bitch at some comments here and there...but i havent seen an "overall" lack of civility...theres a few folks who like to argue with a few others...but overall i don't see a sudden increase in any demeaning or meaning...or meaness...or whatever! _____________________
