Parse it in all four directions and it pretty much can't serve any other purpose. The funny thing is, back in the news groups, the ones that announced their exit were the ones most likely to return. The exit announcements were more of a warning of their return later.

We saw that years ago in IRC as well. The ones who stated the loudest and longest they were leaving...never did. Or left and returned with equally long "I'm back" speeches. Most of them are still around 12 years later. :rolleyes:

Then there were the people who really did leave, said nothing and after a bit people were saying, "Hey, have you see [name] lately?" which generally began all kinds of speculation as to why they left, if they were ok, those who had email addys for said persons tried to contact them, etc.

Ya know what's really scary..... there are people that we all probably know IRL who are capable of this kind of wingnuttiness and we have NO idea because that kind of warped drama mentality is sort of seething underneath the appearance or normality (a certain person I used to know years ago comes to mind....*shudder* but fortunately her instability reared it's ugly head in time for me and other mutual friends to exit stage left and run...run for the hills......)

I have left the forums several times, however you won't find a single drama-filled leaving post from me ever on here. If I go and come back then all is well and I just needed a break. If I don't ever return then it should be assumed I needed to leave it behind. I would hope and expect that people would not spend much energy worrying about me. After all this is the internet, you meet people, you laugh, you cry and after a while everyone moves on. You cherish the good that has been and try to learn from the bad. Just like all areas of life really. A fait accompli.

Well, I have just read all 6 pages....6!!! - So I have wasted my precious SL time...kinda....and finally I caved....I looked at her profile in-world....GASP!!!!

Someone protect my innocence! Her list of picks scare me! Maybe I'm just too innocent for SL - maybe...m...m...maybe I should leave......will ya'all miss me ???

I saw just looked at the first page. I am not going to bash this lady. But, I am at a lose for words.

It just underscores the need for filters at the workplace. If I had seen that at work no telling what I woul've said.
