To those who say "be kind" -

Doing something that you know will offend a great majority of the people and then expecting to be treated with kindness is just, IMO, very naive and/or mentally unbalanced.

Sure, you can be as "different" as you want, but having an avatar whose appearance is blatantly overdone then saying "no one is allowed to react" is just totally stupid.

It's not at all like real life where you have no choice about your appearance. Looking totally absurd in SL is a choice. Making that choice and expecting no reaction is - well, I can't think of another term besides mentally unbalanced.

The avatar was made for shock value, it's not possible that it was made for anything else. People who do that then demand to be treated normally deserve no respect or kindness, IMO.

I'm just frustrated that:

a. Another inworld friend of mine has quit SL.
b. Another Fetish/BDSM merchant has closed down.
c. Another cool marketplace/playspace is gone.
d. I had vendors in her mall area, and sales were good.
e. I still have very little understanding of why she left.

and..

f. We weren't all that close of friends, but she didn't say goodbye, and that sucks on a personal level.

Oh..

g. You people are really mean. You seem to have a lot of repressed hatred.

Mean or totally full of themselves, I haven’t figured out which yet.......maybe a bit of both.

I see very few signs of that.

Offers a Hug to Winter. Change sucks. Sometimes even though I find I get attached to some people even though we aren't close to and then they are suddenly gone their departure feels like a loss...even if it doesn't make sense.
Perhaps it's a reminder to let others know regardless if we speak on daily basis to them we appreciate their presence in our lives.
I know I feel that way about you and numerous others even though I may not talk to them, shop at their stores, hang out or see on daily basis or even have on "friend" list
any more.
I hope you discover something new that will be as nice as those places you no longer can go too.
I don't personally get the mentality its okay be unkind as long you look good, have best stuff because you look good still good even if only be it pixel wise and because you had ability to buy blank amount of L$ to shop for best of stuff this month.

When the OP starts out by telling everyone to get a clue, as though we are all fooling ourselves like idiots:-

it doesn't exactly cry out for a chorus of well-wishes. It's like "I've learned the truth and you are all stupid for not seeing it."

I have heard from several people that this farewell is a bunch of crap because she is still "wasting her time" in this "stupid game" and being "pitiful" because she is "sticking around even longer" as an alt (or two), still hanging out in the same circles.

No, Pep - I did not. Not into the inflation stuff myself but there is no better place to accept people's differences than SL.

I'm sure some of us may feel we are wasting our time on SL and the whole internet from time to time. And in essence we might. If dust bunnies and cob webs are appearing all over your real life house, it might be time to get up and get useful to yourself and your family.

I'm sure also SL phases exist also. Peaks and valleys just like real life or a game or a TV show you were once interested in.

SL and the internet are a form of entertainment and when that entertainment gets dull and tired, we move on, but maybe leaving the door open for future times on SL. If it still feels dull again after a month or two, it might be time to do something more with your life.

However, I don't see anyone needing to be mean. Mean and making fun of people doesn't make you smarter nor more attractive, it actually does the opposite.

I go to several different unrelated forums and don't talk all the time about SL.

I'm surprised you weren't mentioned in the "will", Kate as I noticed you were heavily into what the Preggy Goddess was doing at one point, and you have included it in your list of "been there, done that"s in another thread. Or were you just in it for the money?
