Zero body fat...or?

Hi :)

I don't see myself as a plus size avatar. However, I have 10% body fat, and I understand that 0 body fat is rather common among female avatars.

I don't think I have too much trouble fitting prims either. The only thing is set of bangles that reach almost up to the elbow... it's obvious that they make bangles for thinner arms. And they are often no modify. :(

Only my feet is set to 0... even my butt in the "dress shape" is 3, and my tummy is 5. I've newer used 0 in body fat or tummy size in SL. I'm not a short avatar, I am average female height in SL as in RL. I can't see myself as fat... but I can see that I don't look like some SL models either. They are thinner.

Am I a plus size?

My body measurements is:

Height: 82%
Body thickness: 14%
Body fat: 10%

Just wear whatever you are comfortable in for a size. :) I like seeing people that go outside the box and make more "realistic" avatars.

This is SL, don't worry about what others think or how you are viewed. This is fantasy time to be just what you want within the restrictions of the body mesh and TOS. hehe.

Have fun!

I don't really base it on slider values, as much as the way I see it

so saying the numbers without being able to see the shape in use, is useless for me to be able to say if it is bbw or not

I think alot of it boils down to how do you want to present yourself, how do you want others to perceive you, and how do you want to act. Do you want to behave like Paris Hilton? If so then look like that. Do you want to behave like a real person, then look like one.

If you're just looking to get a concensus/poll put my vote in for
"women should have curves".

lol, isn't it the same in RL?

Mine are:

Height: 100%
Body thickness: 25%
Body fat: 10%

I don't think I look too big, but I do have to adjust prim clothing from time to time. Master Verge thinks my shape is perfect and thats good enough for me, I'll just keep adjusting prims ;)

Also, thank you to the designers that are including resizing scripts in their prim attachments.

Marianne - I don't like the waif look myself - I adjust all shapes to more realistic proportions while maintaining vanity :)

Sent you a bangle in world that is copy/mod - Hope you will like it.

No clothes hanger look for me, either. Here are mine:

Height: 51%
Body thickness: 27%
Body fat: 15%

I do have problems with some prim skirts which need adjusting, but that's not a big deal.

If you are happy, then that's all that matters.

And I must say, in a conversation I had with my fella, I mentioned, in passing, the fact that some people have different shapes for wearing skirts, reducing the um, amount of junk in one's trunk. This comment was met with a plea not to do so...:)

There are a number of men out there who would be far happier with healthy normal body fat. Skinny can be attractive too except that it's ubiquitous.

Personally whenever I see one one of the stick thin glamour models females or musclebound male avatars I just ignore them, seems that 90% of the avatars in SL all look the same to me and thats just not interesting. Anything slightly outside the norm will catch my attention and i think shows a spark of originality rather than taking then easy option of copying the generic models that everyone goes for. My old grandmother used to say to me, why be a sheep and follow the herd when you can be a hunter and slaughter the herd and have a nice Lamb roast for sunday lunch. She did'nt actually say that but if she had of done I would have agreed with her.

Pork!

I don't think the avatar sliders really coincide with true proportions anyway. I never use 0 body fat on an avatar shape unless it's a very wide shape because the mesh angles are way too harsh without some element of 'fat'.

But....aside from that..... you really can't be 'wrong' in the way you present an avatar. If you are happy with your look....that's all that matters. This IS the virtual world after all. ;) There was a big discussion a while back about making avatar shapes....it got pretty heated in a few posts but I think that's because human beings, in truth, are so incredibly varied in shape, size and proportion. We're not even actually symetrical....and the sliders only allow for symetry which eliminates a lot of the more interesting traits that most human beings have.....what makes us so unique.

I spend a lot of time studying body shapes....especially after spending so much time creating them in SL.....I really pay attention to proportions and features. Human beings are such amazing creatures in that with-in the bipedal form we know as human.....there are sooooo many possible looks. Have fun with it......don't try to mimick the the things that a RL body presents because the sliders in SL really don't coincide very acurately anyway. And of course, prim clothing is always gonna need adjusting because the creator is likely working from their own unique form....no big deal... Our imaginations may be limitless...but SL does have a few limitations so we sorta just have to go with the flow. :D

Height 45, Thickness 5, Bodyfat 25 and no-one's ever called me tubby :) I like my curves and would love the same proportions iRL. I've indulged in a size 0 belly though.

Are you plus sized? In height, perhaps! Compared to other SL models... maybe, but if you look good, who cares?

IMHO I think Maureen has done an excellent job on her avi. I have seen a many great avi's similar to hers.

I have also seen some joke avis that could never exsist in RL. They typically have as much on top as hanging out the back so I guess it balances.

My basic avatar is:

Height 47
Body Thickness 26
Body Fat 25

I don't consider myself to be plus size, more just curvy. But I know I am quite large compared to many other female avs I see around.

I made a plus size av a while ago. She's not huge, but needs some serious prim adjusting. Here are her stats:

Height 55
Body Thickness 31
Body Fat 35

Ann has 15 body fat, 10 thickness...she's thin, but I think not too thin, and has curves in good places. ;)

IMO, zero looks bad in pretty much every case.

Oh, well, you might be able to get away with it if your av was as short as possible and you were RPing a pixie or something...

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

well its not the same thing as % of real life body fat.

You can duplicate most of the effects of body thickness or body fat numbers with the individual sliders.

Thus a 0 body fat on one avatar may look much "thicker" than on another.

While a 0 body thickness might look thicker or fatter than one with a higher number.

Its really a combination of body fat, thickness and the individual body part size slider settings that gets the whole.

It might be my imagination (lol) - but raising the "Body Fat" number seems to increase thickness in a rounder way, which is why I prefer that slider to body thickness.

Both my shapes for Carli (who would probably be a dress size of maybe 2) and Colette (closer to 16/18) have ZERO body thickness numbers.

On the other hand Carli is 13% body fat and Colette is 37% the overall effect created with individual slider settings.

I totally agree. As a woman with an athletic figure IRL, I have encountered men that preferred me to be a little squishier. I will have to look at my IW shape sliders and see where I am. This is an interesting discussion...

This was interesting to look at.

Body Thickness 16%
Body Fat 10%

HOWEVER - My height is VERY short, only 19%, so even tho the body thickness and fat percentages sound very low, if you look at me I do NOT look thin at all. In fact, I look what I consider rather healthy, and when I looked at my "belly" setting, was surprised to see it at 19%. My av's body looks "average" for a short women who looks like she takes care of herself by being active, but not overdoing it. And, is someone who doesn't obsess about how much she eats ;) I have nice curves, not overdone and I'm nicely proportioned.

I have pix on Flickr, some semi-nude (darn close) to show what I'm talking about. Mac has seen them, so he'd be a good judge if I'm telling the truth.

Wish I had a slider in RL :p

Goodness. Height = 50, Body Thickness = 40, Body fat = 41. Am I plus sized? Perhaps. But I look more real, I think, than all the space-alien types who are taller and thinner than human beings are. And I'm cute, too. :)

Just to stick up for a few skinnies out there, they do exist in RL. Many people in my family are tall and skinny - not just thin, but bean pole skinny (not me :)). They aren't models and they eat normally, but it's in the genes... Of course in SL, the proportion of skinnies compared to other body types is silly, but they do exist, and they aren't aliens :p
