Underage kid is back on new account

WE sent linden labs a report about a 14 year old on our sim and all that and they banned him. Now today he is back under another account and we dont know what to do

Do the same thing. All you can do.

Eventually they will block access from his IP address. Just keep reporting it.

As the others have said report him and hope LL ban his IP.
I am still wondering though why LL has not banned a guy who i reported who knowingly had a 16 yr old girl as his slave in a BDSM environment. TO me he is worse than her coming in

As I understand it, LL has indicated that they are going to officially allow underage kids onto the main grid pretty soon (part of their "Education" market strategy, among other reasons).

My advice would be to get used to it.

Is he payment info on file?

Actually Blue Linden indicated this is not so, if he is to be believed. Anyway, it is the closest "official" statement on that fact I believe.

Meanwhile, Phillip Linden for one has said that this is definitely going to happen, albeit on some unknown timeline; LL's recent focus has been on how to deal with "adult content" on the grid, using some kind of forced relocation plan to a new continent; LL has identified their immediate and most important market as being Education - and it's pretty clear that they mean young children. So Blue's reactive pronouncments that all this recent stuff is not about putting kids on the grid is inconsistent with everything else LL is doing and saying, therefore hard to believe.

Perhaps it is weasel words. "We're not merging the teen grid with the main grid" could possibly mean: the teen grid will continue to exist seperately for a while, even after we let underage kids onto the main grid.

So, no, I don't believe Blue Linden really.

I do think that LL will do what it says, though, and they have said the kids are coming. They're just being coy about how and when, because they need to manage the publicity.

actually I read the whole situation as we aren't planning it now... (because we can't figure out how to clean out main grid so we don't have a PR disaster when we DO merge them)...

It has been part of their long-term plan for years.

Heck, the Teen Grid probably was the first step towards making it happen.

And Blue has correctly stated that there are a lot of minors already in the MG. This includes two that have made significant contributions to SL. I am not really prepared for the merge when it comes, just saying that a lot of the minors here are more mature then the adults.

There are very good reasons for having a seprate Teen Grid, and that's where teenagers in SL need to be. It's one of the things LL has gotten right.

I was not arguing that they should be here. I was stating that they ARE here and the Lindens know that they ARE here. They are sent packing if they get caught or get ARed.

having known one of those two personally (if we're talking about the same two)(with their age unasked and unknown at the time, not that I'd have cared) I can definitely say MUCH more mature than a vast number of SL residents, brilliant and talented, and definitely contributed a great deal to both SL and to the residents in general.

Well we both know the one. The other's name can be mentioned; Jesse Malthus. I had the rare honor of having him in my Friend's List AND actually calling him friend. He is the only one that I know for sure some of the Lindens knew was underage and accepted anyway. Jesse is no longer among the living but his name still shows in search in honor. Fortunately his great contributions when sldev was getting off the ground were acknowledged and he was given an award for this by LL while he was still alive. It seemed like he was nearly a savant in many coding languages and for someone so young, he made this old person feel like a young child compared to him.

There are people that "want" kids here in SL. I would prefer that the grids be split than see ~these~ people have anonymous chat/IM/interactive access to kids. (>_<

I'm one of those people that welcome a merge (AND some control), but certainly not for the reasons (nefarious or otherwise) that you are proposing. there is talent and ideas, and innovation on the teen grid that is wasting away for lack of a wider audience.

Perhaps there are things LL could do to enhance the popularity of the Teen Grid.

Or perhaps LL could make some kind of arrangement to share their creations with the main grid. LL can improve the situation for both grids without merging them.

Either way, children should wait until they're adults to be put in an adult environment (the main grid). For very good reasons.

If Linden Lab thinks salacious news stories about adults being naughty are bad for SL's image with potential business and education customers, that's nothing compared to a pedophelia scandal.

the way I see it, an internet connection is an adult environment. just my personal view... control begins at the source, not the end. you wouldn't let your child go to an R rated movie your weren't sure about, why should the internet be any different?

and SL has already had to deal with exactly that scenario... on both grids no less.

i more than agree with this..too many parents do the"how could you let my kids walk in your world where there is sex and this and that..where is the lawyers number!!" and pointing fingers at a part of an environment that they handed to their child..

i wonder who they would blame if they hand their child a loaded weapon and then went off to work and came home to find out lil billy broke the rules and didn't do what mamma said to..
i doubt she would blame the company that made the gun..
i don't understand why they think blame falls anywhere else when they give their child internet access and walk away letting it be the babysitter..

it's those parents that are making a grid merger a hard thing to deal with for a lot of people..
i think it would be great to let them on here with their parents..or at least their parents making sure that they are not wandering places they shouldn't be..

The point of having the Teen Grid is to give parents an environment they can be reasonably sure of. Merging the grids destroys that assurance.

Yes! And then when something goes wrong those people will be screaming to the media about how evil sl is even though they aren't monitoring what their kids are doing.

A kid in SL? Nope can't happen, the "check this box if you are over 18" system on our infinate anoymous unverified free account system is infailable, it can't happen, must be an adult pretending to be underage
