From: Laurin Sorbet Thanks goodness, because after a drop of the Vodka to stave off the chill, things went to hell in a half naked handbasket Youre such a lush. I went to rehab and am sober now. I dont liek to point this out but it's pretty obvious to anyone here that I am the only sober member of this clan of neverdowelz. Scylla sails along bombe-brained half the time. Deira just about makes it to Waitrose for her daily Scotch bottle and you've gotta stop hiding your booze under the sink and colouring it green to pretend its washing up liquid! Lol. Love, Jigsy.

Love, Jigsy. /me slams the cupboard shut and staggers out of the kitchen squawking, "It got cold! You know better than to leave me to my own devices!" If Dearsie is up to a bottle a day, maybe we should consider sabotaging the distillery's heli when we get to Scotland. I don't want to spend all my time fishing her out of a half frozen lake or worse, the gamekeeper's cottage Be a good girl now and give me the names of those miscreants Scylla is slumming with in the public houses. I'll have a quiet word with Uncle Des to see if he can manage that situation before it gets totally out of hand. All we need is another illegitimate brat, er, unexpected blessing appearing.

Suitably attired, of course. (I'll bring the Scotch - I have a wee dram by me.)

It may not be as easy as you think, Laurin. Last night I was out doing my charitable work (collecting for the Home For Wayward Women) and in one particularly disreputable hostelry I noticed a card game going on in a corner with four "gentlemen" being entertained by half-dressed floosies as they caroused and gambled. Three of the gents looked remarkably like Des, Phil and Lear, and although I didn't recognise the fourth, they all seemed to be behaving in an overly obsequious manner and smarming up to him, and addressing him only as "Mister Linden". Pep (I caught a snatch of conversation which involved the words, "dowry" and "slavery" and Scylla's name was definitely mentioned.) PS And as I was leaving someone who could have been Deira's twin sister (surely not!) was dancing on one of the tables with a wodge of banknotes stuffed down in her garter. PPS I am not sure that Melita woman is entirely trustworthy either; anyone that wants to facilitate the distribution of free commodities to needy noobs must either be a saint or using it as a front for some racket, I reckon.

From: Melita Magic Kind of a huge question.
Shouldn't a research project be a bit more detailed? It's a mistake to assume that the question in the base post is the sum total of the research project. Research projects often start out with vague questions, and build from there. In this case, the initial question could be used to build a skeletal framework, which would be refined, corrected, and developed by future, more detailed research.

So, now you see why I have sequestered myself away from society all these years, and tried to live a pious, quiet life of contemplation. It's in the wild blood of those Devon folk, I'm afraid. I had hoped fostering would mend the predispositions, but as you see...it gets worse and worse. I suspect that pink faced Ephraim was lurking about as well. I have heard rumblings about certain inquiries and negotiations. Please excuse me, I am overseeing the packing for Switzerland, a journey at this point I shall make ALONE. Hopefully a solution will come to me with a bit of peace, quiet, and Vodka.

Many of my customers _ask_ for a copy of my shape. I'm happy to oblige them, of course, as I test all my fan dances myself, so ensuring a perfect fit of movement to avatar and props. PS How many Wayward Women did you collect for your home?

From: Irie Baddingham Hi everyone, we are students of social anthropology and we're working on a research project concerning nettiquette in SL. We would like to ask you, if you consciously follow certain rules or specific manners or etiquettes in SL? We are especially interested in rules, which are not written in the terms of agreement of Linden Labs. Thank you for your inputs! - cu in SL - It occurs to me that if you had just asked the question, without mentioning anything about it being a research project, you would have gotten a very different set of responses. Indeed, asking the same or similar questions in several different ways could be an interesting research project concerning these forums, though not necessarily related to your project. The knee jerks missed noticing that, unlike many student research project requests we see, this wasn't a request to go elsewhere for some poorly structured survey, nor was it a list of a dozen meaningless questions to be answered here. It is a single, perfectly reasonable and relevant question. True, it couldn't result in a complete picture, but then again, if a small handful of students went in-world for a couple of months, they wouldn't get a complete picture either. I don't believe research like this could be considered complete if you didn't ask this question here, as well as other boards, along with in-world groups and other places.

They just asked a single question. You responded in a way that suggests you assumed there was no other research being done. Why would you think that the sum total of what you were given here is a complete picture of the entire research project?

I assume nothing beyond that. (You can't have it both ways, by the way. I was responding to YOUR assertion that there was much more to come.)

(I'll bring the Scotch - I have a wee dram by me.) That's actually a good idea, a portrait of this special family, for the Cartel calendar, eh. Now who all is relatives again, that would be Deira, Laurin, Jig, Pep and Des? (Lord, how did Des end up with this crowd?) Must be an alt-er ego......anyway can't wait for that lovely family pic, to last for all time.......

I must emphasise that I am not a blood relative, or even an in-law. I was simply Jig's foster mother. Don't forget Scylla, who is Jig's sister. Pep jilted Laurin and he has been sexcommunicated. The picture is for the official family Christmas Card. (Don't worry Treasure, I'll see you are on the list.)

From: Pserendipity Daniels I've not been very good at it then, have I since only one person here has posted in such a disgusting fashion?
Pep (Or are there others that think the same way?) There seem to be quite a few here who find the Forum Pep Persona less than endearing. If bringing out the worst in others is indeed one of your goals - and I have trouble imagining that it isn't - you have not been entirely unsuccessful.
