it's not just bra and panties that won't come off. The only items that actually came off me were my skirt and shoes. And when i tried to put another outfit on it wouldn't appear.

I think the change is reflected after restarting the program. At least that's how it worked for me.

You are right, there are some serious flaws. This clothing thing is not the only major malfunction in the preview grid.

Kelly Linden has explained: they will either fix the bugs, back out of the changes with the bugs, or delay the upgrade.

I made a server configuration change (fix) this morning. I don't know that it will help with the underwear that won't go away, but it may help with the ability to change outfits without relogging.

Ok, so I had a chance to look into some things and... things are really broken. I'm not gonna be able to easily fix this right now. It definitely won't be fixed until a full preview grid restart at the least.

I do, however, know why at least some of the stuff is happening.

I helped someone with something similar on AGNI the other day. The solution that finally worked was:

1> Go into appearance.
2> Select Undershirt. I guess if you're wearing one, take it off. (She wasn't.)
3> Click the 'create new undershirt' button.
4> Take off the undershirt you just made.

Repeat for underpants. Beware of gnomes.

It's not really that much of a pain. If you have the skin textures just apply them to your undergarments. But yea the pain is if this was to be real and released to MG like this... It's stupid for LL to even do this since it can be so easily reversed.

They tried this in THERE.com and people make nude skin clothes there too. Only issue with THERE is their skin looks like it has pant legs. This is something we wont have a problem with in SL though.

the real reason: LDA

Ah, so the real reason that clothing changes aren't applied until relog is that all clothing changes now must be approved by the LDA (Linden Decency Authority.) The relog allows the LDA's decency filter to block unauthorized clothing changes.

As Torley said, the standard of decency being applied is the "family room" standard. Would you wear that crotchless outfit in front of Grandma? If you would, PLEASE refrain from telling me about it. Eeew.

So, the LDA's filter will block all outfits which don't come with a verified LDA CFRC (certificate of family room compliance.) Clothing vendors will need to submit outfits for LDA approval and wait the mandatory six weeks for approval. Nice.

Apparently, the penalties for ignoring the LDA will be stiff. Vendors who get caught selling outfits without approval are subject to immediate permanent suspension and forfeiture of all assets. The vendor's avatar will be placed in public stocks for a minimum of 3 weeks, available for public humiliation. Residents will be encouraged to humiliate these malcontent avatars. Of course, sexual humiliations will have to be submitted for approval by the LDA before implementation.

Check the new TOS, section 9/42b. These changes are spelled out there.

ps: I made it all up. that stuff could never really happen...

This and other issues, combined with the long weekend which gave us a shorter than usual time to review preview feedback and bugs means we will be pushing this weeks release back a week. I actually think most of the issues that have been brought up so far were fixed over the weekend and this morning, but we do need to QA those fixes etc.

Look for an official announcement "soon".

I was kinda looking forward to LMAO'ing over people that would quit SL because they were forced to wear underoos for a little while.

Look, do nto panic about disneyfication of SL or forced undies. You realize that fi they disney-fy the hell out of the game all the game's important, rich, and popular players will set their land to private and stop playing, basically all the grid except for the Linden owned will be inaccesible and noone will be online as a consequence (or online bitching and griefing in the amss hsyteria). LL will be FORCED via boycott to change things back or simply go out of business and yank the plug on the mg permanently.

I dun know why, but It's working for me now. I can remove my underoos. Thank Gawd. I tried to remove em in a PG sim and they wouldn't come off. I teleported to a mature sim and was able to remove em. I thought that maybe underwear was now mandatory in PG sims, but upon teleporting back to the original PG sim, I could then get naked.

Weird. But I'm glad it' working. Thanks, LL. Don't ever scare me like that again.
