Doubt it. People have absolutely no reason to fight, other than pure maliciousness, which eventually drives any potential allies away anyway, resulting in isolated griefers, not armies.

cash flow verses peace.

Lets hook up world of war craft server with secondlife server so we can make weapons and sell it to wow and get some of there cashflow in to second life, with over a billion dollars a year there making i dont see any problem with it.
If you wnat to stop war in cyber space just pull the plug out of the wall. fixed. Does that mean i become an arms dealer? Peace. _____________________

How about an attempt to take over Jessie? Or a protest for...say...another combat sim like Jessie? Or just because you think it would be cool to show people that war and conflict is imminent, even in utopian societies? At least...those are my reasons ![]() _____________________

Alright, I just happened to spot this while the grid was down, so let me tell everyone what's going on.
I'm Leif, and I am the commander of the Air Division for the Alliance Navy, which is a rather large military group in SL, affiliated with the Mercatzeers and Interpol. Basicly what's happening is Interpol is causing trouble. They came in being all nicey-nice and allied with all the big military groups around including the Mercatzeers and AN. Well basicly what they're trying to do, it seems, is turn us against each other and get rid of us one by one. Most recently, Interpol turned on our allies, the Mercatzeers. Before they even had the Mercatzeer situation under control, however, they decided to begin an offensive on the Alliance Navy. So we severed our alliance with them and we're currently fighting alongside the Mercatzeers against the Interpol and the dozens of small military groups (Usually with Russian or Serbian sounding named) under Interpol's control. But yes, coming from the point of view of someone in a command position of one of the large superpowers, I have to say a large war is inevitable. The major players will most likely be the Interpol, the Mercatzeers, and the AN. Also, the WWIIOLers have been showing up lately, so I have reason to believe they may have also joined Interpol's side in some way. |

Keep in mind, however, that you can rarely get more than half your guys on, but that's still pretty good, yes. Not huge, but a force to be reckoned with at the very least. |

Well that's why militaries in SL tend to have their own damage-enabled headquarters which all 3 of the specific militaries do. (Interpol I'm not too sure.) It's a high priority to keep the battles within non-safe area. |

Leif, you forget that many of the smaller militaries running around SL are griefer groups, especially INTERPOL. Keeping the fight off safe land is a high priority for the Alliance Navy, but INTERPOL, the TCG, and the interpol-minion-groups are meerly griefers, and have absolutely no concern for the wellbeing of SL's residents.

Yeah, that's true, Mazer, but I'm speaking on behalf of the AN. I'm sure the Mercz feel the same way, but our enemies, as you said, don't really care. |

Where are these battles taking place? I'd like to see one. Usually in Enceladus, Tethys (Alliance Navy HQ), Raziel Vesperia (Alliance Navy Outpost), Adscita (Mercatzeers HQ), or Malibu (Interpol home sim?) |

Interpol has been kicked out of Malibu by Sirus! Woohoo!
But on another note, here; the TCG has been almost completley irradiated by the Merczateers and the Alliance Navy. They have gone into "hiding" and are rebuilding under a new group name. If you'd like to know what that group name is, I'm afraid that's classified information that I only reveal to my clients. |

Yes! A valid point! I forgot COMPLETELY about the TCG. Yes, they've been engaging in sporadic attacks against the AN. I heard the Mercz got hit a bit harder, but they seem to have disappeared in the past few days. And as for the info, I'll be in contact. |

I'm interested in how this actually works. ![]() Well, it's all just combat. But when you get factions, politics get involved. And that's where it gets messy. Politics tend to do that. |

So they're trying to get rid of you by shaming you into leaving or what? No. See, I don't think you understand the concept of a war. |

No. See, I don't think you understand the concept of a war. Honestly, I don't understand the concept of a war where no one gets hurt, and losses can't actually be inflicted on a target group. What you need to do is design weapons that strobe light at exactly the right frequency as to cause a grand mal seizure on a significant percentage of the users piloting the attacked avatars. Maybe a really, really dense particle effect... |

You'll need to work with important people to make sure the seizure inducing effects don't lag up the joint and ruin their own effect. _____________________
