I'm a n00b, but I am very interested in politics but while I haven't visted neufrinazi (sp?) place yet, Caledon was pretty cool. I just wondered why there was an American flag on one guy's house, and everyone else has the caledon flag. Also, I don't think Goreans are really a nation, I have only met a few but I would say the Star Fleet Academy is more of a nation. Or at least an embassy of a fictional nation. Or a bunch of comic book guys.

I confess to being a total noob and not having any experience with the neu's except through these forums... but this statement is enough to turn me off your world. At some point one group of whiners should take the high road and simply stop talking.

I've been to Caledon for one ball and it was fantastic. People were polite and quite near friendly. I've been looking for a reason to go back (other than to just stroll around) since then. Now, with Winter approaching I've got a really neat pair of freebie ice skates to test out... Can anyone travel over and enjoy the frozen pond?

You are making comments on something, of which you are completely ignorant. The conflict between the two groups is one which is based on intellectual property theft (detailed in this post), copyright violations, attempted seizure of common property, and failure to pay on initial investment. We're talking about a sum on the order of US$1000 and growing as time passes. This conflict is by no means over and will terminate in a RL lawsuit if it's not resolved.

Yes, I already stated that I did not understand the conflict. My point however wasn't that either side was right or wrong but that the name calling and seemingly childish manner in which both sides sought to resolve the issue was enough for me to discredit each of them as "whiny babies".

I would venture the opinion that more nations aren't being created because too many humans are involved. SL does not hold the same constraints, mores and norms of RL and as such that societal pressure does not exist. The attitude of "Why should I join you when I can just put the red barrier up and eject anyone from my land" attitude precludes many from any cohesiveness.

This, of course, is just my ignorant opinion based on reading what the "leaders" of feuding factions have said about others as well as their own "nations".

From my records I'd say the top sellers for the past couple of months have been:

The Bancroft Whaler
Ulrika's Chicken Racers
Chance's Fuglies Avatars
and inexplicably -- The Port Neualtenburg Buoys (now with clanging bell sounds)
and my milk crates (of all bizarre things)

I have not once failed to make tier since we went live in June, and have managed to squirrel away a fund for our expansion due to outside contract work and capital recieved from our merchant sales commissions. We actually turn a respectable profit. In addition artist's in our community who participate in outside contract work with our Artist's Guild have made some very nice moneys themselves.

How's Neufreistadt doing? Any trade relationships with Neufreistadt would have to show to be some benefit to us as well. Do you folks have anything to trade?
