Hiro would get stuck for comebacks without being able to rely upon calling things ad hominem or strawman.

I have actually come up with a name for the game that Hiro and Moopf (and Kris) are all locked in a death match of PVP action on - it's called Quote Chicken. Whoever blinks first and forgets to quote and any part of their opponent's post loses. Also, whoever gets in the last word wins. Clearly, Hiro is a professional Quote Chicken player, so good luck to you all and godspeed.

You haven't been playing Quote Chicken. You've been doing little one off quotes here and there. Quote Chicken involved quoting multi-paragraph posts by breaking down each paragraph into a separate quoted section to comment on - sometimes even sentence by sentence. I have once seen Ulrika even do it word by word, but she was level 60.

Okay, now I'm repeating myself, so this will be my last post before sleeping. Perhaps I haven't stated myself clearly enough.

If you want to make a point to someone, and that point is based on the definition of the word, and that word's definition is wrong, then the point is unfounded.

If I say, "The sky is orange", and you say "No it's blue." and I said, "Well I meant the 'blue' type of orange", it doesn't make the sky orange.


If it were in the wrong place, it would not have been moved to the ResMod forum, instead it would have wound up in Off-topic or whatnot.

Here's the play-by-play:
Step 1: Thread posted in correct place.
Step 2: Personal attacks occur in thread by another party.
Step 3: Personal attacks are reported.
Step 4: Resmod moves the entire thread because of the report of the subsequent personal attacks.

As stated, moving the thread had nothing to do with where it was originally posted, and all to do with the personal attack.

Do you mean: "Hiro, you are a hypocrite" is not ok but "Hiro, you display hypocrisy in your posts" is ok, because the second refers explicitly to the writings but the first to the man?

If this is the case then let me state publicly that I mean that you often display hypocrisy in your posts, not that you are somehow physically or mentally deficient.

When you start quoting people, you read what they say and consider the statements. It focuses on the argument, not the person. It makes progress in actually discussing things.

Now, as to whether all parties want there to be progress made on the topic instead of just derailing the thread, that's another story.
