Advertising the game in the "New in Second Life" forum, which is violating the forum rules, is just plain WRONG!

The reason i made the original post was because its a social environment.

I have not made a post since in New in Second Life, nor have I asked anyone else to do so. They like having fun and want to share their enjoyment.

And just so you know the facts, since youve never bothered to come out and try it (btw, I have played skunk, kinda fun, but single player).....

Last night my SL balance started at 503L. At the end of the night it was 173L with me oweing someone 1900L. And its not because your playing against the house, your not. Its because im just too day nice.

I dont do it for dwell. We spend any money we do make on buying the land around us so players have less lag and more enjoyable time.

Three lindens stopped by last night alone to say great job and how they enjoyed it.

So if its a business, please tell me where im susposed to be makign money, since:

I dont sell the tables.
I give rake back to the players at random.
I use any proceeds to make the game environment better.

But interesting something called "SKUNK" money is moved. Why is the word skunk a problem? Because it's also a type of weeeed man.

I would love to see another griefer reply to this without making a total fool out of themselves.

I dont post about each poker event, because its not new then, but if you just opened a new bingo place, sure. its a social gathering, its something new in second life, its a place to go have fun.


If something unusual happens at a session, come back and let us know about that too. The more interactive reports we have about the world, the better things are.

Maybe we need a forum called "Current Events" or "Last night in SL" or something.

Yes Sens, I'd would like to see posts about your Bingo events more than I would like to see posts about petitions to kick someone out of the community. But that thread about Alby didn't get removed either.

pandastrong, if you make something that takes $L's it's a business. Even if you make something that you GIVE AWAY, it's related to economics. So any objects, scripts, services, clothes in "New in Second Life" is an advertisement but only some get to stick around.

Y'know, I thought that "Classifieds" thread was requested by the residents so we could post threads without any discussion. Not so some pushy mod can move a 'few' threads they don't like.

Also bear in mind Jack,

he isnt makeing any L from me, its not a business. He is being given tips and linden from fellow players who appreciate his being the mediator for their game.

If he's making tips then he's making money ...hence a business. Not all business make money just look at the Airlines.

Also, the rules for the forum do not say you cannot discuss a business. At least not in Danial Linden's post.

So if a business is NEW to second life, then let it be here if its a discussion of it, because its something that affects SL as a whole.

Now if its just a sale advertisment, sure, use classifieds

If its a discussion though of the business, let them discuss it.

Grey line possible? Of course.

Then please don't whine when you enter the grayline area of the forums and individuals call you on it.

Remember, you are advertising a BUSINESS, your attitude on these forums can make or break your clientele.

Actually im not advertising anything

If folks come out to play, thats fantastic, and Ill deal for them. I usually go 3-5 hours a session because they are having fun.

If noone showed up, that would be ok with me too, cause i have other things to code or work on or classes to give, etc.

Its not a business to me, its just a place for people to get together and have fun.

Arch if you ahven't seen my post in the "spite thread", please take a moment to read it...coming from a supporter rather then a stranger. Lynn helped me see some of my similar faux pas in the past as she has been around a long time and knows what she is talking about from her history here...I have nothing to argue about your perspective but no matter how much factual information you have to backup your side of hte debate, this type of ongoing discussion will end up tarnishing your reputation to some even though you are a stand up guy who has a valid argument. At the same time...Hankand others here are respectable members of this community who contribute a lot, as well as others who jumped in. They are goign by what has been enforced in the past. the forums have been slow...and you don't need this kind of publicity...trust me...I know first hand
