#1 - this is a game. Part of the enjoyment some people get out of the game is engaging in a relationsip, whether they intend to pursue it in RL, or it is just an SL relationship. It is played out just like many of the other things we do in SL are played out. Being a fantasy game, a romantic relationship can be part of the fantasy.
#2 - Charlotte Gilespie is an antagonistic trouble maker. I have seen other rude, narrow minded posts by her in the forums and have been personally hassled by her in game. She made it a point to harrass the owner and members of Hellraiser club because she didnt like the club or what the people did there. She would come and "park" her avatar in the middle of our dance floor, would refuse to leave when asked by the owner. She neg rated the owner out of spite, would constantly start confrontations, and finally had to be banned from the area by the Lindens.
It seems very obvious that Charlotte doesn't like ANYTHING that goes on in this game, and it is a mystery to me why she plays at all. Perhaps being an antagonistic pest is her fantasy.

falling in love online

being that my husband and I met and fell in love on a text based multi sim I thought I'd throw my 2 lindens in.
I believe you get to see more of who the person is with writing. You aren't just mesmerized by OMG he looks like Brad Pitt, and he has the personality of a sponge.
You are forced, even more I think on RPG multis to be creative so its easier to see how a person is. And you can easily spot the person who is just there to be stupid, or is hiding something, (you cant write about being a gent if you arent one yourself)
So looks turned into second choice as he was a delightful person to talk to online and on the phone.
And after 10 years of having met him, 8 years of moving in with him and 6 of being married to him, I am glad I met him online. If I had saw him at a party, I doubt if I would have talked to him much. He has a very assertive presence about him, and I would have probably steered clear of him. LOL He doesnt even know he does it.
