UGH. Ok let me make one last reply to answer David Valentino. I am only doing this because he is looking at this as an interesting legal/TOS issue rather than some kind of battle. Thanks David!
 Here is how I would word the policy: "Users will not publically display mature content of another user without their consent." I know you instantly have concerns but I think I can set them at ease because there is no gray area in that rule that doesn't already have precedence in Linden TOS/CS. Consent Precedence exists in the current Harassment policy and in the aformentioned chatlog policy. Example, if you orbit me with a script, the only thing separating you from an abuse violation is my permission. How will the Lindens know I gave it? Whatever techniques Lindens currently use to determine consent for harassment and publishing of chat logs can also be used for my policy. What is "mature content?" Again, this is already defined in the CS, and the Lindens have to make judgement calls on this on a regular basis. I think this largely saves the use of SL snapshots as an SL feature. Depending on the context it MAY even permit panty shots in Taco's museum. This doesn't sound like tyranny to me, nor does it sound unenforcable. OK. Law & Order time. -aimee |

What has really happened here is Activist Residents who WANT the TOS to incriminate Taco. The problem is that he has done nothing wrong according to TOS. Aimee nicely stated the language of a policy that WOULD incriminate Taco, IF it were part of the TOS. The problem is, no such policy exists. Sounds to me (correct me if I'm wrong, please) like you're saying females are 'asking for it' by dressing in sexy/skimpy clothes and appearing in public so attired. Don't know why people have a hard time with this 'consent' concept. I guess it's more fun to not get consent and wait for the fallout. It amazes me that so many people don't seem to think Taco's done anything wrong.... in my opinion, the problem is not that he took the pics, but that he didn't ask for permission to display them. Surely if he asked if it was OK to display them, he'd still be able to get a fair number of girls who wouldn't object.... or, is hearing them object and getting attention from it part of the game? I know, I'm just giving this issue more attention by adding another post.... but I had to throw in my two cents worth. This whole issue has really been getting me pissed off. _____________________
