I have called Linden Lab support twice in two years. Once I dealt with Michael Linden, the other time I dealt with Lee Linden. The first time, when Club Elite moved out of Federal, all of the scripted items on my land were deleted - hundreds of items, many unreplaceable. Absolutely nothing was done to assist me - I just got an "oh well, not sure what happened" and was blown off.

Today, I had two users grief my land in Federal by placing nearly 2000 prims on my land, causing a significant number of my own items to be returned to me. After calling support for assistance, I was given a condescending talk on how group land works, and told there is nothing they can do to help me - I need to return or delete each item. It is bad enough that the land management tools are so poor in SL, but then to add insult to injury, to provide no assistance to players who have been griefed is a joke.

That is zero for two on support. Thanks for absolutely nothing.

Christiano,

Join US!

I'm trying to get a Union started. If it takes off we'll vote as a group for where to go next, but the key thing now is just to get a lot of citizens to stand together. We can make a difference, but you have to join us and stand in a group. On your own you're just one voice.

Cris, is it a possibility that what they told you was the truth? That they would have to do the same thing and send someone to delete the stuff one by one? Do they have the ability to delete all the objects from a particular creator in a sim? I totally understand your frustration! That really sucks that it happened to you. I'm just trying to offer some food for thought. I don't know the answers. Anyway, very sorry this happened to you!

Chip,

I went through and returned the prims I could find - there were 2900 of them at least - one player put 1600 prims individually. I recognize what you are saying, but honestly, here I am in the middle of entire pieces of my builds being returned to me, and they offer no way to help at all. If they cannot remove the items of individual users, then their management tools are just as bad as the ones we are stuck with, and that is sad.

Yeah, I agree completely Cris. I really don't know which is why I asked. If they don't have the ability they definitely need to attain it! If there's anything I can do to help let me know.

BTW, I don't understand how on earth we are able to go over the prim limits and cause items to be returned anyway? That seems rather odd - what is the point of the limits? It is not the first time someone dumping items on my items on my land and caused it to go over the limits.

Definitely. It opens us up for the kind of griefing you experienced. Rezzing should be impossible on a plot that's at its prim limit.

I voted no, sorry :) I believe that LL wants things to work correctly as much as we do, so I feel no compulsion to make a fuss other than forum discussions which I know they read.

I understand your grief Christiano. I had half a build disappear in Tehama early last year, and couldn't get it back either. :(

Cris I too am sorry to hear your land was griefed and I can relate to your frustrations with LL.

In the spring I had some serious issues with the SL Mac beta-client and I called, emailed and spoke directly with several LL folks. Nothing was done - ah, i forgot I received a tech. ticket number via. the support email sys.

 :(

Hank,

come join us in the union. We must speak together on things like this. Without working together we are just so many separate individuals.

Spamming the same thing over and over is not a way to draw supporters.

Just sayin'.

Jsecure,

I am not a big union person, though I did vote in your poll. I do believe individually we can have strong voices. I am with Chip in that I trust this stuff will be addressed, it is just frustrating to smack up against it sometimes. The fact that the lack of certain control features leaves us very vulnerable to griefing, along with decidedly poor customer support (there is much anecdotal evidence to support this, not just me griping about one or two bad experiences) does not leave one feeling great about SL sometimes. I'm not going anywhere because I love SL, but I do feel let down.

Yeah man I agree, I love second life.

But I do think we need to get together and vote as a group what is the most important issue to us, and as we all pay the lindens' wages, we can ask them together, to address what is troubling us the most. Or at least tell us why and what must come first. We do pay their wages, we do deserve more. It's easy to brush one guy aside, but not a hundred. That's why I created the union.

Christiano? Were your objects set to the group that owned the land?

Yes, and some were still being returned to me - Taeja as well. There were some non-group items that were not touched actually - I don't understand why group items would get returned first - yet the garbage dumped on the land stayed there.

Yes they do. I have had this done twice. Once when I had a 'xyobject' incident and had to clear out objects of mine over 2 different sims, and once on one of my builds where someone was rezzing clear temp on rez cubes, that we couldn't find the source of.

Okay, I'd be incredibly pissed then. I'd forgotten about your ants Pete.

LOL funny you mention that :) I think it was projects like the ants that caused them to write in better 'object control' god mode tools.

You know, I am at the point where I don't honestly care anymore, so voila, the names of those who purposely griefed me to damage my land. Proximo White placed nearly 1000 prims on my land, in the form of multple copies of the same 10 prim flame created by Eric Linden - he or she buried them under the ground, and placed them all over my land, trying to obscure them as much as possible. There are still a few left that Proximo put on someone else's land - I sent them an IM to let them know they are there. Additionally, Cordycep Lomax placed 1600 prims as some bizarre form of art - unlinked. This account appears to be an alt, as it is several months old with one group membership. I broke my long standing policy of rarely neg rating back and triple neg rated the both of them, not that it will do any good.

Given what Pete said about Linden Lab's capabilities, I am more annoyed that support did nothing whatsoever to assist. I still do not understand how another user an push your land over the limits - this is a severe flaw that just leaves land exposed to griefing potential. I would love to leave my land as no build - but a really dumb design "feature" of group land is that no one can build on no build land, not even the group members or officers - rendering it useless. I am loathe to turn on autoreturn, as I had my entire house autoreturned even though it was set to group - again, nothing could be done to restore it.

I don't understand why it would have started returning your objects instead of the most recent ones. That has to be a bug, and a pretty damn frightening one.
