Okay, so I'm all for having your own style..I mean you like what you like. Lately though, I've noticed a new trend spreading like wildfire through SL . At first I thought "Well it's creative at least, I would never have thought of it". I mean in small doses it's not all that bad but I fear it has gotten out of control. If you haven't guessed what I'm talking about yet let me fill you in. I'm speaking of the "bling bling". Now, I don't mean for this to offend any of you out there wearing your bling right now. There's nothing wrong with wearing jewelry. I just think that some of you have gone past a neat accessory to blinding the innocent as you pass. I mean you've got everything blinging, your ring, your shoes, your belt, your choker, your eyes, your watch, your purse, and I swear I saw someone's skin with little bling attachments all over it.
Is it really necessary to have everything on your entire body flashing? I keep waiting for the "may cause seizures" message to pop up on my screen. I literally have to focus my camera elsewhere when talking to someone like this because it's not something my eyes take kindly to lol. I really am not making fun here, I'm being lighthearted about it because it's not a "serious" problem but more of a question in my mind. Why do you desire to wear so much of it? I'm truly curious to see your answers. I have no desire to step on someone's rights to wear what they want.

Torrid!!!
I agree, I mean I have my wedding wing and engagement ring that bling, and I think one pair of my earrings bling, and prolly one of my Belly Button piercings, but I have seen some ppl, where EVERYTHING is fecking blinging, my screen goe's doolally, I can't zoom anywhere near them and my photos get fecked up.
Bling is all well and good IN MODERATION!!
Blinging hair will be next :/

LMAO Someone asked me to make them a Burberry shirt, so I gasped and said 'Are you a CHAV?' he didn't have a clue what I was on about, but I was highly amused

I completely agree. Big chains with big honking medallions on them aren't enough. Every single link has to be twinkling away! It's a little much Enough about the bling; let's talk about the MULLETS! jusssst joking.

Small bling is a good thing. But BIG bling is a bad thing.

Yes I agree, I would much rather see the avatars face instead of the out of control seiezure producing flashes from the oversized backbreaking jewelry around the avatars neck. Which incedently is why my jewelry is bling free Yay!

I agree. And I'll add that attachment prim counts need to be limited. I have had people swing by wearing 100+ prim hair, neckaces, earrings, rings, shoes, purses, etc... They are wearing more prims on their av than my entire allotment in the sim. My computer just grinds to a halt trying to render this walking lag bomb. Add bling bling effects and I can't even look at them.

I use blings as subtle accents -- icing on the cake, not the whole cake. Besides, while I'm fond of loud colors... if anyone should know better, it should be me. (Do flames from a jetpack count as bling? Heh.)

Do not forget the deadliest combination of them all, the bling script inside of the hoochie hair. I think it is what fried my last video card.

the only time this stuff bothers me is at events. i like to play tringo. i really do. but every game i've attended lately has been covered up by dancing masses of blinging hooch. even the hosts are contributing to my local fps of a rousing 4.
people sit at these events and complain about the lag knowing, i know they know because i tell them, that if they'd put away their animations, blings and attachments, we could sail through the games with ease.
i suppose it's that same mentality people have in clubs where nobody can move but everybody's having a wonderful experience and can't imagine being anywhere else. i guess i'm just cursed to never understand such good times. does anybody host tringo in a subdued pg environment?

Yeah, I can relate. When it comes to that, I hit Shift-Alt-= and hide all the particles. An efficient temporary "fix". *sighs softly* I appreciate being considerate of others and asking whether my bling is bothering them. I find it helps. ^_^

I think the bling is amusing, and often joke with those that are drenched in it. To me, any bling other than small, subtle accents, just screams "immature" or "I need attention!". It's more funny than anything.

An accompanying question, David: So where are all the bold, swaggered "gangsta walk" anims in SL? I've seen a lot of "sexy" and "strut your stuff" ones, but I haven't seen any -- yet -- that truely emphasizes the burden of hanging a kiloton bling bomb from one's neck.w0rd to mah homiez.

I have a pimp walk that I have given out to a few select people - I don't sell it - I'll send you one so you can get your G on, T.
