Conservatives are not Nazis. Neo-Conservatives (those radical, evangelical christians in charge of the USA Republican party at the moment) are pretty close though.

Rememeber, there are multiple axes in the political spectrum. You can be in favour of reproductive rights or of extending immigration and still not be a fan of free health care. You can be gay and still think that Bush (or whoever) is doing a good job on the whole Iraq thing, or that tax cuts are a good idea.

Granted, I don't know of many gay people that support an amendment to the US constitution prohibiting gay marriage, though I do know of a few who would be in favour of one prohibiting government-approved marriage altogether. Personally, I think it's an anachronism, blurring what should matter to everyone -- a legal contract -- with the religious tradition, which doesn't.

All I'm saying is that politics and sexual orientation don't have a lot to do with each other, aside from the occasional leader that thinks it'd be an awesome idea to send gay people to death camps and so on.

Good luck to you Korg. You sound like the subject of a lot of controversy, but, what makes this game fascinating is the diversity and creativity of its residents. Having read some of your posts, I think you certainly qualify in the 'diverse & creative' department!

Korg was a mean, grumpy poopyhead. (Can I say poopyhead?) I'm glad he's gone. He could have been the farthest-flung liberal alive, but with his attitude, people STILL would have told him to shove it, regardless of what the overall political bent is around here.

When was it stated that he was gay? I see no reference to the gender of his significant other in his post.

I also looked up the profile in SL and it shows Ariaruil as a female, not that this proves she is not male, it's just in light of the comments which led up to his suspension added to this makes me fairly skeptical that he is gay.

As far as him leaving, at this point it doesn't matter to me anymore as I stopped conversing with him 3 weeks ago or so. I too realize that he is intelligent and does in fact make some good points at times. It's just that those points are routinely overshadowed by his attacks on people's intelligence and characters for daring to simply state a contrary opinion. Calling people "illiterate" ad nauseum because they happen to disagree with you is really sad not to mention the much overused; "You might be able to understand this if you had 2 cooperatively functioning brain cells..." line.

Lots of gay conservatives. The Log Cabin Republicans and Andrew Sullivan did not endorse Bush in this past election. Just a small point of clarification.

Log Cabin Republicans even went so far as to purchase television ads against Bush's marriage amendment. (or the amendment he supports)

Ken Mehlman, the chairman of the GOP is a homosexual. Yes, the man running the party is a homosexual. You can't get anymore conservative and gay than that.

The other is Mary Cheney, Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter. She managed his VP campaign. She was also present on stage at the inaugural and the GOP convention. She is frequently pictured with her longtime partner.

Both of these people are causing a small stir among the extreme fundamentalist Christians. Most don't comment on it, but the really wacko ones are having hissy fits.
