Blake, my reasoning is simply. I like and want the sexual content in SL, for those folks who do not like it, I am reasonable and I can understand. I believe that is why Second life does offer the option of view mature content in the list of search results. 8)

*sighs*

I've finally figured out why the Linden's left toes off of the AV's.

They've figure out what I've known all along.

Toes=hot, sweaty, steaming sex.

*sighs*

Now I'm really scared. Some techno-geek knows the real meaning of a real good toe-job.

*sighs*

Just because some people are against something it is no reason to ban it.
Those people can simply stay away from places they do not like.

I am against religions, politics and green clothes in SL, but I understand it would be unfair to ask such things to be banned just because I do not like it.
I simply try to avoid situations that would get me involved with these things.

You're absolutely right, Finn. Blake seems to be the only one, or one of very few, who don't see that this isn't about banning sexual content, or even banning stupid sexual content. It's about not allowing exploits, by anyone, even stupid sexual content hosts.

The only reason the majority of those club contests started was because the Lindens changed the event support rules, stating that events would no longer be funded unless they contained some sort of contest... So every club owner who wanted support for their club began having some form of lame, cookie-cutter contest or another, hence the flood of them on the event list every single day.

If anyone wants to know who to blame for that 'contest' loophole being closed, take a long look at the club owners who abused it. The thing that sucks about it is that legitimate contests, like Trivia, building contests, genuine avatar contests, etc, also got denied funding because of the abuse of the clubs and their greenest thong, sexiest avatar, biggest tits contests.

But don't expect the people who benefited from that abuse to admit or accept the responsibility for fucking it up for everyone.

Ok please forgive me if this has been covered already as I don't really have the time right now to read everything that has been said.....

I voted no. Why? I do not believe "sex" events hurt the game at all. In fact I like some of them. However its the quantity of them that might be the problem here. as one poster pointed out, "sex sells". However flooding the "market" with them can hurt big time. What we need is more variety here, not taking away something in the game which is actually fun at times.

Consider for a moment selling cars in RL, or even something as simple as Restaurants. Both are legit business and have value. However consider what happens when the market is overwhelmingly flooded with it. It decreases the "success" of the business as a whole. What do you think is more successful? 5 car dealerships or 55 of them, as a whole? I am sure you see my point.

SL needs variety in there events, not just the same ol same ol..... How many clubs are there in SL? How many escorts? How many "sex" events? Too much of anything is not good, and not just in sex-business either. As my father once said, if everyone is the same, someone is NOT needed. No more is that true than business, and bottom line, events are a business.....

Variety is the key here......... If you are unique in SL it will work fine. If you compete with 50 other similar business, the chance of being a success drops accordingly. Its sort of like the old song lyric say's "Love is like oxygen.... You get to much and you get high; not enough an your gonna die.... love gets you high..."

Don't take sex away, just add different things to do is all............
