From: Snakekiss Noir What a wonderful idea. Being fond of trees and having planted thousands of them it seems I ought to get one of these too, in Tehama.
I just completed my own 'newbie' help idea with 6 free houses on my lands with L$1000 starter grants in Red Dragon Village, so right now I shall donate to one or two trees modestly to start, I think. I have a huge SL committment coming up, and I am not sure I can dispense with my weekly stipend just yet for a while in the cause, but I can donate. Also with the new houses I have a prim scarcity again and not sure I can spare 50 prims just yet.. tho i hope soon..
Wonderful idea ! Trust me...once the newbies find the tree it will never be over 7 prims at any given time

This is great, I'm being relayed some really great tales of newbies finding these treasures-in-trees. Keep it rolling.

These tree are great but I have notice some tree farming from some newbies. I'm pretty surprise how much like clockwork some of them are. But how about an option to increase the list maybe to the last 5?

A suggestion for the next Money Tree revision I have is to maybe make the list of last people who picked from the tree longer than three people, perhaps set it at five or six. This would make it so that those who reach their limit (which I've discovered is actually L$44 if they pick fruit along with the one-dollar bills) and then go on the list would have to wait a bit longer before they can come back and pick again. It would ensure that the money would be spread out to more people. It's just a thought, does anybody else have an opinion on this?
The trees are great, Sapphire! Thanks so much for making them available for all to use.
(Edit: Heh, Toneless suggested the same thing just above me, I didn't see his post before I made mine.)

Perhaps there should be a big list somewhere of who's benefited the most from collecting L$ off of these money trees. I notice it shows "Last 3" but a global history would be nice. Hopefully, as they receive, they will give back in turn in the future... paying it forward!

One option you have for now are the blacklist commands. I have seen those few that do laps. You can pretty much set your watch by them. I actually saw one this morning that did laps for over 6 hours. Kind of a strange way to spend all your SL time, but hey - to each his own.
But, more to your point, yes, 'Last 5 Recipients' sounds good. I'll add it to the next rev.
Torley, global stats is on the 'when I get inspired to add features' list.
Black List commands -----------------------
Use these at your own discretion: '/5 bl' shows the names on the black list. '/5 bl <name>' will add that name to the list. If that name is already on the list, it will be removed. '/5 clear' will clear the list. A newbie on the list can click on the bills and fruit, the sound effect will play and the bill or fruit will die just like normal. The only difference is that no money will be given out to that person. Statistics will not be affected.

Good to hear, Sapphire... your money trees are quite an SL sensation! Now, I just have to be wary of TREEFER KIN. There are some who pluck and pluck and keep on plucking without so much as a thank-you :\

OK the next update is out. Here are the release notes: V2.7 - 1/26/05 * Changed 'Last 3 Recipients' to 'Last 5 Recipients' * Adjusted check for the max a newbie can pick while on 'Last 5 Recipients' list. If the fruit they are trying to pick puts them over L$25, they will not be able to pick it. * Newbies are now classified as 30 days or younger No bug fixes here, so if you want these adjustments pickup a new tree at Bravo Bravo - Garmisch(60,200) Setting Up A New Version ---------------------------- You need to keep your donations balance correct to make sure you give away the money you were given by others. To do this, note your "Remaining Donations:". Delete your tree and any fruit and bills. Then setup your tree as before. Now type '/5 balance <amount>' where <amount> is the amount you noted earlier. By doing it this way (v.s. just donating the amount through Pay) your name will not be at the top of the "Top 3 Donors" list forever. If you want your direct donations back on the "Top 3 Donors" list, subtract your amount from the amount you put in with the 'balance' command. Then just directly donate your amount via Pay.

V3.0 2/14/05 V3.0 of both types of Money Tree is available at Bravo Bravo - Garmisch(60,200)This fixes the memory problem when large numbers of bills accumulate in the tree. The time for bills to fall to the ground is still 12 hours and the time for bills to rot (die) after being on the ground is still 12 hours (24 hour lifetime). The maximum number of bills/fruit in a tree now is approximately 100 at a time. The tree will not spawn any more until some have been picked. I suggest everyone upgrade. PS - I removed the sound loop entirely from the Hong Bao tree. I found the looped sounds can be a bit buggy and linger unwantedly.
